That genie can't go back into the bottle. License plates are public information. You're required by law to display one and people have the freedom to record license plate numbers.

That office looks amazing… I would rather be there than at home…
Edit: during work hours….
Tough crowd.

You weren't forced to sign the contract. You could have moved somewhere without an HOA. You also have voting rights in the HOA you voluntarily joined.

LinkedIn has been where I've gotten my last 4, maybe 5, jobs. All the recruiters are on there. Since it's patterned after a social media site it's a good communication channel for initial contact, and they can get a good overview of my skill set and location and job wants by checking out my profile.

It's the tracking. I don't think my HOA should be able to share my car's location in my private community with the police. If you live near one of these HOAs, the police could know every time you drive to or from your home. You're OK with that? Personal tracking that will never be used to help you, but only harm you?
Imagine if a group of thieves managed to gain access to this data. They'd know exactly when to rob people.
Now I'll wait for someone to inform me that a random person's right to monitor and track all of my movements is "freedom" but my desire to keep my location private is "communism" or something.

My wife watches TikTok a lot. She often sends me links. I have never once followed those links. I don't want/need TikTok to be part of my life.

Voluntary? I wish.

I think this is too invasive. I think that technology has advanced to a point where tracking people and making use of that data is far too easy and inexpensive.
I don't care if it's the government or private organizations, people should expect a higher level of privacy than this.

Because toddlers and babies don't use something like TikTok and there is no upper limit on the age to skew the average upwards. There is also the problem where a lot of you people stick in fake ages. Back on point, though. You don't need a 10k person to skew the age up. I gave an example in another comment where a couple of 46 year old people can skew an average with a majority school aged group up to 22. Here it is:
If you have 5 x 13 year olds, a 15 year old, a 16 year old, a 22 year old and 2 x 46 year old people. That averages out to 21 years with the median being 14 years.

Hybrid is the better system. You can work from home on the one day you don’t want to come in (Monday), and the one day you’re practically checked out (Friday). Any extra WFH days are a nice bonus. Sorry, no f***ing sympathy for them since I’ve never really worked a true remote job even during the pandemic.

No, the average age is higher than the voting age. Average <> most. One 90 year old person can bring up the average in a group with 9 x 10 year olds to 18 years.

The cybertruck will still be profitable before the lightning is. That's not to say the lightning isn't a good truck. It's just the reality of where the companies are right now.

I have no issue with laws being passed to completely gut the data that the US social media companies siphon off too.

Why would you have an expectation of your license plate being private? Its whole purpose is public display!

The F-150 is in production but at a very low volume. Ford isn't really breaking away from Tesla unless they get the Lighting up to real production numbers.

Yeah, this claim is total bullshit. All of the kids in my daughters school are on tiktok but very few parents in the area use it. Even then, the numbers will always skew higher because babies and toddlers aren't going to be using this and there is no limit on the upper end. For example, if you have 5 x 13 year olds, a 15 year old, a 16 year old, a 22 year old and 2 x 46 year old people. That averages out to 21 years. The vast majority of people are school kids with only one college student, and 2 older people. He should be giving the median age and he knows it.
All of that is also ignoring that a lot of kids stick fake ages into these apps.

This isn't just about HOA residents, but also visitors to the HOA, contractors, and the like. Also, if a HOA is in a city, then likely all vehicles passing by the community will be captured as well.
Also, given the ubiquity of the collection and analysis of personal data by data brokers, companies, and other organizations, it's highly unlikely that this data will remain unlinked with other personal information. Much of the information captured will likely be of people who are not parties to that HOA contract and essentially have no say in the matter.

The range for age is significantly lower than for income which is why your example is meaningless. In a population with 99 16-year-olds and one 80-year-old, the mean age is 16.6.
