One you're choosing and know what you're getting, the other is a bad surprise. It's like parents sending their kids to church to learn about the Bible, and how parental incest is ok because of Lot's daughters having sex with him. Context matters.

Or just browse on browser, no ads, no bull, only things you follow. Same with FB, using Purity, nothing out of what you follow appears.

Models aren't trained based on what people search though, it's usually done beforehand with a large set of training data (chatGPT might also use the thumbs up/down though for training). It's more likely they're trying to avoid liability and controversy.

If only that actually worked. Youtube has this and it does basically nothing. Recently they even made it so you can't dismiss music videos from your feed. Yesterday, out of the first six videos on my feed, 4 were music playlists. It's nice that the feature is there but it really only removes that single post.

It's not just instagram. I had to mute a few subreddits because of the content. My adult children have reported terrible shit on Tiktok too.

even your brain is not a text completion engine. Don't get fooled by ChatGPT. It is very far removed from what a human brain can do.
It excels the human brain at one thing and one thing only: Remembering the 570 gigabyte of data poured into it.

You don’t even know which direction you’re pointed. You contradicted yourself and called me stupid for pointing it out instead of clarifying or admitting you were wrong.

There really is no need for this they just need to develop a screen tech that isn’t sample and hold.

Reply to comment by spektre in Signal CEO: We “1,000% won’t participate” in UK law to weaken encryption by ActivePersona
This really depends on a lot of scenarios. For example, if you use Signal for desktop on a Windows system without Bitlocker, your message content can be recovered easily without forcing you to unlock the device or installing any kind of keylogger. If you have FDE enabled, but your device is unlocked, then your message content can be retrieved. No keylogger or additional tooling is necessary. Signal is as secure as your device is, it provides no additional security for your messages. They have repeatedly classified bug reports for weak local security as "Won't fix" because they are up front about the fact that their intent is ONLY to secure messages in transit.

There's probably some stuff we could do over the course of a decade or two that would help mitigate the battery issue.
For example, modern water heaters can keep water hot for a decent amount of time - oversize them, and there could be a setup that heats water during the day for use at night. Fridges could be similar, but with cooling. And infrastructure at work could allow EVs to charge during the day. Cooling is another area.
Heating will likely be a problem though. Even with heat pumps, a large amount of electricity will be used. In theory, one could build energy efficient homes with thermal mass. In practice, homes tend to have longer lifespans - unlike appliances, the average home should last for decades before being replaced.
We're going to need something to provide electricity at night, be it wind, hydro, etc.

You're just speaking nonsense. You don't understand these concepts at all. I'm not sourcing anything for some high school kid who's taken one IT class and thinks they're hot shit b/c they know CIA. There are loads of people reporting "vulnerabilities" in Signal because the on-device data is trivially accessed. Signal's response is consistently and repeatedly that their intent is not to provide on-device security and that you should use FDE. This is a very easy Google search away for you.
