Why are you coping. Yes you can play a lot of games, and a lot of times you cant or you have to mess around for hours to get one working. It's far from plug and play, its a bunch of open source projects.

It’s an interesting concept. If by having some virtual experience that results in fewer people being harmed in real life, I’m leaning in that direction until a better solution comes along.

All of the uninhabited parts of Nevada. But I like the idea of just covering all of nevada, breaking up Reno and Vegas. Nobody really wants those cities anyhow.

I do know there was one leak of Midjourney's model at one point, but not sure how updated it is.
I was referring to things like the earlier Stable Diffusion 1.5 or specialized models that are more specifically for that purpose.

My bad I thought you were talking about AI in general, I meant ChatGPT.

Now all you need is a graphics card that can push 1000 fps in games without costing $10,000.
People are playing Hogwarts Legacy with top of the line graphics cards and registering below 60 fps.

You forget they have unencrypted sensitive data. The business is not only about unencrypting, it can also be about preventing the leak of the files themselves.
That's why it never makes sense to pay a ransom because they can eternally ask you for more to not release the files.

Pretty much. And AI porn is already huge, and hyper realistic.

This is perfect example what chatbot is. Just a fancy text completion engine. And no, technology is not only few years old. It is much older! It's just how it works.

Sudowrite claims to have a looser content policy for authoring fiction, and has a pretty impressive set of tools.

The content is accurate, the opinion is based on the findings and additional inputs.
The less third parties you have the better the opsec.
Messaging apps also get cam/mic/location/contacts permissions, Signal is no different, one more entity with your face/voice/place/friends.
You are free to keep using Signal, but trusting a third party messenger is really, really risky.
Agree to disagree.

Yep, if you're providing a generative model as a service, then it's ultimately you generating the content, and you who are liable for said content.

There's more to PVs than just the panel itself. It's also the manufacturing and nighttime electricity storage. This is non-marginal when PV manufacturing is dirtier and riskier than combustion engineering, because boilers don't require special acids to be made. At least not on a simple level. The larger supply chain needs to be addressed, regardless of how much wishful thinking currently happens most PVs are still made in China and most are made in appalling, dirty conditions that actively contribute to global warming & thus represent an external climate cost to PVs as even the best PVs don't last more than 25 years. Gen 1 PVs are already hitting their end-of-life and most are being landfilled in Asia, contributing to the global microplastics problem.
This doesn't discredit PVs as a technology, but it does discredit neoliberal capitalism as a means to deliver it. We need to stop importing energy, including manufactured energy devices such as PVs and electronics in general.

.and a CPU+GPU that can generate a full frame of AAA graphics in under 1 msec. Good luck w that. Same thing with apples "retina" displays. Yeah they are nice to look at.. but it's REALLY hard to feed a high res image at any decent framerate.
Doubling the frame size means quadrupling the GPU framebuffer size = 4x more horsepower to feed it.
