Different startup different tech but I think you are right. The one you are referring to is AliveCore, they developed the ECG sensor. The company that worked on Glucose sensors is called Rockley Photonics and they are in no way “fake”.

Ok. The startup wasn’t “fake” the name is Rockley Photonics and I’m pretty sure this looks like another alivecore situation.

Ok, cool security feature making the solution slightly more complicated, but...
Apple systems can absolutely know that's the same AirTag that was "muted" and its ownership hasn't changed (like if I stole an airtag out of the collar and reset it to be mine, Apple knows the AppleID linked has changed). So a check in with Apple's servers should be done before alerting, which it likely does already (they don't alert while my wife is with me because I am with my airtags), its only if airtag not with owner and airtag is with subject while subject moves to new place @ greater than 20 minutes or some such

Great, so now Bixby's failures can be pinned on me.

LOL. It's about MONEY. Apple doesn't give a shit about all this.
They don't want to allow air tag sharing because they want people to buy one for each family member instead of just sharing them.

I'm a PC guy but I like the app store on MacOS, iOS and Android. It works really well, with android, iOS and windows having options to install differently.
A centralized update and install location is a great idea and works brilliantly. If Windows Store could get more attention and get up and running then that would make things a look easier and smoother. Not having 24 update services running on your PC but instead like 3 plus the rest via Microsoft store would be great.
And that wouldn't be to replace exe's and msi's but work alongside.
