And half those paid ads don’t match the search results because google screws the natural results.
Meaning sometimes the ads are more relevant for what you are searching for than Google’s serps.

Seriously, I'm not sure Bill Gates has any more credibility on this than the second junior assistant night manager down at the local Taco Bell.

I’d love for it to be figured out. I’ve been working on for a long time as a side project. I just am not convinced it’s going to happen in my life time. Would be awesome though.

It does. It’s actually about energy teleportation across quantum entangled particles rather than pulling it straight from nothing. That is, a certain amount of energy is input to a particle at one location, and released from an entangled particle at another.
edit: no this doesn’t allow for FTL energy transfer or anything like that. It’s a bit more complicated, because you need a “message” from the initial location to be received at the second location to know what to look for so to speak and that message will be limited by the speed of light. Article does an alright job of explaining it.

Australia passed a similar law a while ago, and both Google and Meta caved and are now paying for news content.

It's like something great is made, it's sold to someone willing to pay a lot for it, those people then do everything possible to squeeze ALL the profit and assets it has to offer and accrued. Everyone gets laid off so they dont hav to be paid, and the company seems to just be ran into the ground as long as the people who bought it were able to basically liquidating it.
its like, they see a really awesome, popular thing, and they take it and turn it to cash for them and ruin it for everyone, and then wait to do it again elsewhere.

It works perfectly well as a pet tracker for people who live alone and don't share the pet. The problem here is that it doesn't implement sharing correctly, not that dogs are somehow special.

Why do you think that a product that is useful, but only for a small fraction of the population, would make "infinite" money? Smartphones are already tremendously more widespread, and are hardly an "infinite" source of wealth.
