It gives the ball back to the Eagles with ~1:30 on the clock and a timeout which is plenty of time to get into field goal range

It would’ve at least set up a great ending to what was, to that point, a great game but instead the penalty allowed the chiefs to take two knees and run the clock down

Packers really fucked up back in 2020 with the Jordan Love pick and other times they chose poor draft picks.

Why pay Rodgers so much and then not surround him with talent? It would be one thing if he was so much money you had nothing left to get that talent but the one place tallest is free is the draft and they got another QB instead of a receiver.

I think that might be the best response the club could release. They support him and it’s a personal matter that has nothing to do with the club so there’s nothing else for them to speak on.

He… he didn’t. He admitted that it was a penalty… Thats the post.

The Chiefs had their share of uncalled holding calls too, the point is that it feels like a dirty way to end a good game by having the refs make a (pretty soft) holding call for the first time all game.

If thats going to be called holding it needs to be consistent through the whole game.

I think the problem is the replay Fox showed is of the wrong hold (probably intentional). If you watch the replay, at the very beginning the hold has ALREADY OCCURRED. It's Bradberry's RIGHT hand holding Smith-Schuster that was called, not the tiny LEFT hand grab that happens later.

And if you get the Jetts past the first round of the playoffs 3 or more times you are a Jetts legend. That fanbase is desperate and loyal.

There is nowhere else that Carr has the potential to become a local god in the way he can with the Jetts. Hell, he doesn’t even have to win a SB there. But if he does then he gets statues and babies named after him.

Incidentally, I think this is why Rodgers will want to go there as well. Aaron seems so preoccupied with his ego and his legacy that the chance to be a franchise’s brightest star since Broadway Joe Namath in the 60s & 70s will have a strong appeal to Aaron; and Rodgers probably thinks he would be a bigger star than Joe (he wouldn’t).

I wondered that about Sean Payton. Was there really no other way out of the Saints’ contract? Could he have just walked in one day and started coaching like “I’m under contract, remember?”

The only solution that can work long term is to abandon the limiting and oh, so corrupt bidding process and set permanent host cities. Whether it be a single city where everybody gathers every four years, or a handful used in rotation, doing so will will hit eliminate the bribery the IOC expects (yay!) and will also eliminate (nearly) completely the waste that comes with cities having facilities that sit completely unused after the Games are done. (I prefer several cities in rotation)

Both Summer and Winter Olympics should go this route.

My picks for permanent Summer hosts- Los Angeles, London, Sydney, Tokyo and Rio (assuming Brazil can get its act together). And I would add an African city at some point as well.

My Winter Games picks would be- Vancouver, Pyeongchang, an Alpine city to be determined, and a city in Scandinavia.

Yes, these are all fairly recent hosts. That’s because they should all still have a lot of infrastructure already in place.
