Then we would have no place beyond this next step of evolution. How do you see humans fitting into the picture?

If you're making AI out of actual brain tissue, is it even really AI anymore?

Yeah AI is set to change our laws. The problem here is that they admitted that they used this specific anime as a basis, but if they hadn't or used something else, or mixed up different styles, then it becomes pretty impossible to tell.
It'll come down to governments, if they side with the old guard they'll declare style is IP and knee cap this art. At which point all AI movies will be generated in a country that doesn't give two cents about IP and doesn't care to force people to disclose what material they trained the model on.
Our laws are based on human efforts, and as I said before, AI is going to smash right through that.
For example if you create an AI that kills people because you trained it on The Terminator to it could make a sequel, then are you to blame? Is the AI? How do you punish an AI? What if the AI creates a slight variation, is that AI also dangerous? Is it a copy or a relative?
So yeah this is the Singularity in my opinion, because it is changing a whole industry with just a sample.

While that may be the case, there will almost certainly be a transition period of doom and gloom society that just wants to masturbate and do heroin with nothing to do.

You might enjoy “The Dawn of Everything” - it’s a recent work on early human civilizations that debunks a lot of what you’re saying in this post.
Human civilization is much more diverse and many society’s operated as truly egalitarian, with no centralized authority just fine. Also, many of those so called “dark ages” when kingdoms collapsed managed just fine without a structured society.
“Trade” as you’re describing it is also not a common feature. Humans are generalists usually or that social role wasn’t defined by what you did, but by your birth or the season of the year or any other number of factors.
I really would urge you to challenge this notion that “work” or “labor” is a natural part of the human condition. We live in a super hierarchical society at the moment, with power concentrated in a handful of humans, so it might seem “natural” but we’re a lot more than our ability to produce goods, services and capital in exchange for economic security.
I think humans should still explore and contribute and make things, because that is in our nature, but if we can automate the necessity for labor and work out of existence so that our efforts are directed towards our interest and not our needs, I think we would wind up with an infinitely more productive, diverse and happy society. Do what you want!

Tbh just do what you're the most interested in. AI will automate everything. Doesn't matter if it takes ur job a few years earlier or later.

Chat GPT doesn't allow porn, so if Pornhub wants their AI chatbot, they're going to have to make one independently.

My dude there's no such thing as a narrow general AI. Narrow and general are antonyms. You've just described narrow AI.

Serfs worked less hours and had more leisure time than we do today as the proletariat. Even if the scenario you are saying happens it might not be too bad.

Another post pointed out that nobility managed to live life without jobs or careers just fine.
Requiring people to contribute to building your pyramid as requirement for them to live is stupid. Let people contribute to society on their terms, not “ours” (aka whoever the ruling power is) and then we’ll have a just world.

A narrow general ai. Example - gpt chatbot that can write and self improve its own software better than the best programmer on the planet now.
AI that can outperform a human in a narrowly defined and structured task. Example: programming new AIs systems. It's the leap needed to get to AGI.

Yeah, the most valuable AI will be the one with broadest reach and scale, so openness is rewarded with increased utility.
The dream is everyone gets their own AI agent that is owned by you and derived from your data that connects to other agents through a planetary scale AI. You get an AI that serve and works for you and a way for that AI to work with others to solve problems, decide on solutions, plan the perfect picnic, manage your finances, you name it.
Personal autonomy and social responsibility become the operating values in a world enabled by such a platform. Your AI may tell you what to do, but it will be on you to make the choice. Certainly there’s room for psychopathic, manipulative personalities to develop, but the solve for that is for humans to get better at personal boundaries and communication. We deal with stupid machines all day already and anthropomorphize them…this is just the continuation of our ongoing dialogue with our technology. It’s just now, our technology can hold a conversation with us.

Yeah that or, 'think very clearly of a sentence, in order, focus on it, and repeat it again and again.'

unlikely. this would be a very bad test for the system since its a prediction model and predicting the same sentence the 4th time voids the purpose of the test.

Well that's the question, now that they've set up the process, how long would it take to repeat it? A month, a week, a day? Can other people pay them to use the process? Can other people copy their process for free? Has filming on Avatar 5 started yet?
On top of that, you're forgetting about AI. How long will it take AI to figure out how to do this process and automate it? Then you just pick a movie as a style guide, tape yourself doing something, and the AI will turn it into an anime instantly.
Whatever the reason Netflix did it, they are now in a position to jump on new technology.
