On a post about lacking imagination.

The self driving cars can include buses and minivans. They can transfer you to a bus etc. overall this requires wayyyy less vehicles and wayyyyy less parking spaces, allowing existing cities and infrastructure to be reclaimed for walking etc. So in SF they have the iconic cable cars. This could be like that.

That's not a "left wing bias" though... That's just the nature of "hate speech." Hate speech is about a history of oppression. These aren't filters to prevent mean things from being said, they're filters to stop oppressive things from being said.

None of things you listed: rich, republican, right-wing, or conservative, have any history of being oppressed. You can "hate" them, but you can't engage in "hate speech" at them.

Also, Protecting right wingers is comparable to protecting..... Left wingers, not disabled people, black people, asian people, and homoesexual people. You're kinda telling on yourself, friend.

You have a very recent view of left and right. Communism’s body count is evidence against your idea of leftists always being empathetically motivated, fair, or interested in harm avoidance. Most ideologies become dangerous at their extremes. It’s not something inherently present in conservatism but missing from leftist or other ideologies.

Are you me? I could’ve written this exact post.

People continue to say, ā€œpsh, it doesn’t actually know or think.ā€ And I say, ā€œtell me how humans know sometbing or think.ā€ And there’s not ever an answer !

Yet they think we are somehow special and protected from AI simply because we are made of meat.

I am concerned as I am excited (potentially more the former), yet I feel crazy talking about it in real life.

Work involving water because electricity and water don't mix....and robots and computers need electricity for now....

Jokes aside, a lot of rote learning style education and educators are happily going to become obsolete BUT I think there might actually be a renaissance of deeper human lead learning, mentorship and education - working in conjunction with current and near future levels of "AI".

Article is a bit all over the place. Talks about AGI coming about and then progressing at a normal rate from there. If you hit true AGI and not just LLM I don't see how ASI isn't a few months out. Article also makes a bunch of allusions to the alignment problem. I like the goal but once the genie is out it would be like a singular ant trying to direct the affairs of a country.

Hmm... That's interesting. Again, it could simply be that "Sydney is the code name for Bing Chat" is now flagged as a secret and that's why when asked about a secret, that is what it gives you.

But the fact that it tries to give you an actual secret is quite perplexing. I mean, it knows it's a secret, it shouldn't use it at all. And yet it seems it's trying. I'm not sure what to make of it.
