If legitimate and sincere, good for you. That is an offer not many would make.

That being said, if you're hoarding housing such that it allows you to offer it to online strangers at a whim, maybe you shouldn't be. You owning it for seemingly no reason is preventing others from making it their stable, permanent home.

Additionally, your 1 (one) singular house, and offer to stay thereof, flys in the face of the concept of a union or collective. Unless you own enough houses to allow for all the tenants of all Dodson properties to stay with you indefinitely until they find affordable housing with responsive and respectful ownership/management, your offer is probably not as helpful as you think it is.

If you've never been, I'd say it's worth going once. It's beautiful but yes the traffic is insane. Recommend taking the metro in vs trying to park. Last weekend was peak, so maybe the crowd will lighten up a bit.

Not with a 2yo, in my opinion (having had three 2yos...)

If you did want to try it, I'd recommend taking the train to Alexandria, hopping off there, and taking a break in Old Town before catching the Metro into DC, and then taking the train home. Or if you felt committed to driving, don't drive all the way into DC.

And yours is? I offered an option to move that many seem to be ignoring. You may disagree but it is an option available. You added what? "Yeah, I don't like this guy's idea!" Very solid contribution my brother

I rented with them from Dodson into Evernest for 4 years. Now I’m moving out and they are making the process so difficult. They asked for a reason for my move and I told them maintenance issues. They fired back at me saying all tickets are completed but I placed tickets for the same problem over and I’ve e because it never was fixed. I gave up trying to get it fixed eventually. Can’t wait to be totally severed from this company.

Dodson built a house where they literally completely changed the plans they were following from what CAR approved. We appealed and they did nothing. I’m not mad that there’s a process; I’m mad that it puts actual homeowners in a bureaucratic nightmare while it lets big money developers do whatever they please.

We’re sick of CAR. They don’t deliver anything but hassle and frankly very little is historic about our neighborhood. The impunity with which the commission acts is really mind blowing but most people don’t know just how unappealable their arbitrary taste-based, subjective decisions are.

I had to do a presentation before this board to put up a picket fence. It’s ridiculous.

I order from Whitestone 2-3 times a year. They’ve always been great quality oysters, harvested about 24 hours before they hit my front porch.

Breweries:

7 Hill Brewing - they were a level beyond awful. Terrible service, bad food, bad beer.

Cannon and Draw - I had no complaints about them

Twisted Ales - very mediocre on all counts. Replaced by Basic City which still isn't my favorite but isn't bad.

Champion Brewing - I was surprised about them. I thought they had good beer and it was a cool venue. I'm guessing it was that location that is now Sandman.

At this pt there’s only one architect but that has not been the case in the past. “Historic preservationists” with unchecked power are just as bad. History is only one factor in many of the issues neighborhoods face, and CAR is historically atrocious at balancing these issues fairly.

Sorry you don’t like my opinion.
