Why don’t we all try to sell them useless unwanted items? For example: when approached with the pitch…..”Nooo I appreciate it but I’m actually a magnet salesman my self. Amongst other small household items, would you be interested in purchasing this here ink pen, pocket lint, paper clip, lighter, sock, receipt, candy wrapper?” And keep naming items until they leave. Scam the scammers? Can we collectively combat this Scamual L Jackson? Just a thought.

Seems you've got it fixed. A lot of times, especially in lofts, the thermostat is so isolated that it maintains the temperature where it's located, but the rest of the house is like 10 degrees hotter. Usually you set it to a lower temperature so it'll balance out the apartment, but then the thermostat area is cold. It's a losing battle, especially in some of the old, high ceiling, poorly insulated warehouses they turn into apartments here.

I agree it has one meaning. Like I said, it means different things to different people. For example, it means something different to you than the many many journalists who are saying it is being taught already in schools, since you claim it isn’t being taught.. https://www.google.com/search?q=crt+being+taught+in+schools&rlz=1CDGOYI_enUS975US983&oq=crt+being+taught+in+schools&aqs=chrome..69i57.5978j0j4&hl=en-US&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8

Caveat that if it's in or within 40 feet of a floodplain, it'll need a floodplain permit even if it's something that would normally not require a building permit. This probably doesn't apply to you, but a quick check on the county's gis will show you if there's any floodplain on your property.

It's a bit concerning that a nurse gave this man when he appeared quite limp sedating medication after he had been physically manhandled. Several grown adults laying across him for several minutes, and now he's limp. I would hope a nurse in that position would reassess if the indication of the order matches the presentation of the patient. If the indication for the IM medication was agitation, then I mainly saw that in the behavior of the deputies rather than the patient and victim.

& I forgot - for After school programs: I don’t remember anything concrete from that but for all programs, they did mention the falling test scores and behavior challenges a lot from the “changing demographics” at some of the schools. (I’m black and am right at home working with the inner city schools that are mainly black and Hispanic- but that’s the political way to say it I guess?) Seemed that the programs that would solicit help from us mainly focused on improving those problems. The success of the programs? IDK…they weren’t mine. But - it does seem that they are looking for answers & exploring outside of the school system for support.

I see what you’re saying but To clarify:

Transportation: they had a bus driver shortage and wanted the word out to fill the vacancies. Those with large congregations could make big announcements at service.

Reading programs: read to/with elementary school kids falling behind in reading during lunch.

Mentorship programs: non Christian orgs looking to put the word out to get more volunteers from churches

Hotspots: you’re correct in that Some churches did discuss their doors open during the week to allow students to come in an access classes/homework.

This is a bit uncharitable, but this is my read [edits by me]. I'd feel the same if a county supervisors finance committee met with mafia bosses.

>The focus is more on how can we help as community leaders. Exploring Transportation [to and from church before/after-school care], [church-based] after school programs, reading programs [that choose readings consistent with Biblical teachings], mentorship programs [to foster leaders in Christ], internet hotspots [provided at our church] during Covid when some families didn’t have internet, etc.
