Reply to Public golf in the area? Seems Richmond is way too big of a city for me to only be able to call 2 or 3 places and check for tee times. Am I missing courses somewhere? by UntrainedFoodCritic

The Hollows is a fair priced 27 hole course up in the Ashland area. between $35-45 for 18 and a cart. Went last week and the course is in excellent condition for the time of year.

If you go onto Belvediere Road after the highway entrances, there will be a 2nd, smaller road off to the side as you come up to Broad Street. Sometimes, when I am in a similar pickle, I will park my car in the parking area between Marshall and Broad street, up next to one of the VCU dorm buildings. I have yet to notice any signs making it clear how long I'm allowed to park there. As far as I'm aware, if you can find a spot in that area I don't think you'll have any trouble.

Gotcha. Need to try that. I personally like providence a lot but they are usually pretty full. Same with sycamore creek, definitely need to try hunting hawk

Yeah I like providence for the price personally, I’m still learning. That said, viniterra kicked my asssss when I went lol can’t do that

Public golf in Richmond is pretty terrible. It's either a shitty course for an affordable price, or super expensive for Independence. Providence is ok, but still not great. Best quality course for a reasonable price I've found is Viniterra in New Kent. You can get cheaper rates after like 2:00 as well.

You're welcome, oh and btw I too have made a ticket for that asphalt fix you're talking about. I estimate that the reason it's so slow going is because road work around active railroad crossings requires extra time & attention and therefore gets ignored until it's absolutely necessary

Your friend can just gift it. As long as total gifts from one individual to another in 2023 are under $17k there's no tax. Just need to go through the process of transferring the title at the DMV and pay the registration fee.
