You know, you’re exactly right I didn’t think of it like that lol. Explains why there are legit like 7 you can play within 15 minutes of downtown Roanoke, near blue hills there’s 3 within 5 minutes lol

I'm in 23060, and 23294 should work as well. 23090 appears to resolve to Lightfoot? You may have meant 23059, which should also work well

Forgot about Sycamore, probably ok during the week but it's a 7 hour round on the weekends.
Royal New Kent and Vinaterra are other options if you're willing to drive a little bit.
I'd recommend downloading GolfNow and then calling the available places to avoid the GN fees.

The big difference is driving from downtown Roanoke you hit open land way faster. So where something like blue hills is 20 min away, the same course/rate combo is 45-50 minutes away from rva. Hanover and Dogwood trace are very nice courses with reasonable rates.

I recently moved here and have been in the same situation of trying to find a new home track. I ended up finding Hunting Hawk and I really can't recommend that course enough. I paid $35 for 18 and a cart. Obviously it's the off season and I'm sure that will raise during the summer, I heard only to $45/55 though. Overall it's a pretty sweet spot, MUCH nicer than a course that would normally charge $35. Not super far out of town as well.

Oh wow that’s way better than I thought, thank y’all for the help. Luckily got on at sycamore creek in goochland, still it feels like there aren’t as many courses as even Roanoke to play at.

Belmont has a par 3 course and a “normal” course that’s 12 holes. You can play them combined for 18

Belmont is just a pat 3 right? I think I’ve scheduled some times and just found out it was only pat 3, Providence I love but it feels like the only true public course in Richmond so they never have available times, today included. The others don’t even come up on google searches so lemme check those lol

Providence, Hanover, Hunting Hawk, Belmont, The Highlands, Independence (semi-private $$$ on GolfNow), Mill Quarter

As a product of RPS I can say with absolutely certainty you don’t want to put your kids thru that.

You can still gifted it. I just did this myself. When you go to the DMV you ask for the tax form. I forgot what section you chose but it is under if a parent gifts a car to a kid. I hope this helps

PREACH!
It's so very on-brand that the new, sloppily-asphalted gash down Nine Mile is almost perfectly placed down the right side of your car so you get a nice rumble strip all the way to 64.

What's fun is that the company hired to manage these will park their vehicles in the bike lane

"Give me liberty, or give me death!" is a quotation attributed to American politician and orator Patrick Henry from a speech he made to the Second Virginia Convention on March 23, 1775, at St. John's Church in Richmond, Virginia. So yes, it really happened.

West End school is anything west of Brookland Middle.
That said I am very pleased with the SPED resources my child gets at Longdale Elementary, a school people wouldn't call a West End school because it's East of Woodman Rd. But in my zip code (23060) there's both Greenwood Elementary & Longdale Elementary, and they are 2 very different schools that are just 2 miles apart.
I feel there's some misinformation about East End schools, engaging families that value education do find engaging teachers in the East, but I won't deny the socio economic difference between what feeds Brookland vs what feeds Hungary Creek or even my kid's elementary school and the neighboring school Greenwood.

Sure there is. There were witnesses. There were also other indirect pieces. For example, some Virginia militia who signed up after the speech wrote “Liberty or Death” on their hunting shirts. The speech was discussed indirectly and spoken about by many. One person was so inspired he asked to be buried where he stood to listen to the speech (outside a window of St. John’s Church)-- his wish was granted.
The real controversy is over the text. Henry did not keep copies of his speeches so his first biographer, William Wirt wrote to contemporaries to get their recollections.

I'm in 23229 which isn't that far outside city limits so it doesn't have to be far west end.

Agreed - I want for the kids at RPS and the rest of Henrico County be supported at the same level that mine have been.

I don’t think ANY public school is doing wonderfully right now. It’s a question of who is doing best in your area

They count traffic but I think they also tell you how fast a car is going to check for speeding. It's funny to think of them looking for speeders in a bike lane.
