I drive a lot (a lot) and love mine. I do have a charger on my garage and use it most nights. Around Richmond (and the counties): 10/10, without hesitation.

My only problem comes on long road trips, especially in cold weather. Everything just takes longer. I believe the infrastructure and technology will come to remedy this, but as of today add an hour or two on your trip when planning.

It works for us! We charge with a level 1 at home and get 60-80 miles of charge overnight. I find the charging infrastructure in Richmond to be quite poor, actually. But you can definitely manage if you can charge at home. Best case scenario is if your workplace has a charger in your parking lot, but I find that rare.

If you open Google Maps and get directions, there is a button for showing where there are EV charging stations.

It's at the top of the screen in my desktop browser -- I'm assuming would be the same on a phone also, but haven't tried there.

and, uh, anyways, let's see what else I-I, uh it was coney island they called coney island the playground of the world, there was no place like it in the whole world—like coney island when I was a youngster no place in the world like it, it was so fabulous now it's shrunk down to almost nothing, you see

and I still remember in my mind how things used to be and, you know, I feel very bad, but people from all over the world came here, from all over the world it was the playground they called it the playground of the world over here

anyways, uh, you see, I, uh, you know I even got, when I was, uh, when I was very small I even got lost at coney island, but they found me..

on the, on, on the beach

and we used to sleep on the beach here, sleep overnight they, uh, they don't do that anymore things changed, you see

they don't sleep anymore on the beach

I went and bought two drink tickets just to realize it was a shitshow, waited over an hour in line for drinks, almost got in a fight with someone trying to cut, chugged my two drinks, and got the hell out. Never again.

I think the new location could’ve been okay but when it’s on Blvd, people enter from all side streets and I think it dices up the crowd organically. When everyone approached Leigh from Blvd this year, it created a bottleneck in terms of lines (none of the ā€œlet’s walk around and find the beer truckā€ because you were immediately thrown into its line). We ended up continuing down to the second beer truck and the line was much shorter and got through in 15 minutes (around 2pm).

I will say, closer to the DMV side, the DJ was LOUD.

Also I’m just glad I made the wise decision to get in the bathroom line BEFORE I truly needed it, as that wait was brutal. Found it funny that everyone was ducking behind bushes next to the Bon Secours with the cops posted up directly next to them.

Anyway, it was exactly what I’d expected. People-watching, questionable clothing choices that made me appreciate my jacket for warmth, ā€œwhere are youā€ texts to locate people, and subpar beer choices.

Weird, because this is literally my copy/paste of the vote by mail section that best I can tell makes no mention of when ballots are going out by mail:

> Voters can request an absentee ballot online, in person at the Office of Elections, by fax (804-646-7848), or by email (Absentee@rva.gov).

>Prefer the ease and comfort of voting from home? Virginia law allows voters the option to join a Permanent Vote By Mail Roster and have their ballots sent directly to their preferred address ahead of every election.

>Click here to apply to Vote By Mail and join the Permanent Roster. Make sure you complete section 3 of the application. You can access the paper absentee application here.

>The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot for the March 28th 2023 Special Election is March 17th 2023.

>All absentee ballots, those sent by mail and those cast in-person, are counted on Election Day in Virginia. Ballots must be postmarked by Election Day or dropped off at the Office of Elections no later than 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

>IMPORTANT – Please mark your ballot using a black or blue pen.

>What if I received an absentee ballot by mail but I want to vote in person?

>1. Return your un-voted ballot by mail. • Leave or reseal your un-voted ballot in Envelope A and mail using the pre‐addressed return envelope. • You will receive a new ballot when you go to vote in person. >2. Take your un-voted ballot with you when you go to vote early in person or on Election Day.

>Important! If you lost your absentee ballot, you can still vote in person. Notify the election official when you come in person to vote. If you choose to vote in person and do not return your un-voted ballot, you will be offered a provisional ballot which will be reviewed for counting after Election Day.

Eh, just got a little concerned that I haven’t seen anything yet about it, and the deadline is so close. Permanent mail-in voting has been a game changer for us and would never go back willingly.

Go to the drop down menu under 'Vote By Mail'. If you are part of the "Permanent Vote By Mail Roster", then they should be heading to you shortly. If not, then you will need to request a ballot from the Office of Elections...which the Office of Elections states on their site that "The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot for the March 28th 2023 Special Election is March 17th 2023."
