I'm at the Henrico budget reveal. They announced an average pay increase of 8.2% and a minimum wage of $15 for Henrico school positions.

Oh great, more car dependent sprawl. Just because it brings density, doesn’t mean it’s the right kind of density

I'm all for the school employees getting better pay, etc, but that's about the only real change this will cause.

That's functionally what keeping the historic cemetery is.

They’re “not naming the company” but we all know it’s Seibert’s and the city’s deliberately crappy management of parking that causes all this.

what exactly is that

You are way too early for anything but big corporate places. End of May is a big turnover, but most tenants aren't required to let their landlords know until end of March at the earliest.
So the big places in Scott's addition might work. Otherwise, check Apartments.com and zillow but don't expect to see anything until april

$80 a month pet rent is steep. A lot of places charge $25ish. I've paid $40 before and felt like I was hugely overpaying.

She already has a monument at her grave site, and another monument where she lived in Jackson Ward. I'm in favor of leaving her where she actually, you know, wanted to be and not using her bones as some weird talisman to be showcased.

They’re not going to get paid more without a union to represent them and fight for it.

Yeah, I planned to look around a bit but not going to put much effort into it. I've assumed that to not be a part of the problem I'll need to manage it myself. Don't wanna be a shitty landlord, but people also like to forget there is no shortage of shitty tenants, so we'll see if we last as the managers.

No one’s asking to build a new cemetery to make room for new bodies. I don’t see how your point has anything to do with preserving a historic cemetery.

I should have read the article, huh. It housing Maggie Walker certainly warrants more consideration.
I'd rather see that as a monument though. I think it would be better to exhume her and put her on Monument Ave or where AP Hill was, with a corresponding monument.

in fairness, moving is an utter pain in the ass, but has never cost me that much to do myself.
Aside from mental anguish and an ill spent weekend.
Real expense if one pays though

per recollection Virginia makes it pretty hard to pay in advance.
One of the shitty apartment buildings on southside would work. Bad credit isn't going to lead to a nice place.
