I know someone who had their rent hiked nearly $500 last year (50% increase). By some standards that's a pretty reasonable hike all things considered.
The other stuff is some shady nickle and time stuff for sure, but just putting it in perspective.

Yea ofc! I’m a Quality Control Medical Technologist, basically I get the donated blood, look for any viruses/diseases, keep it sterile & store it properly for hospitals to use.

My senior cat sneezed in my face this morning so that was a lovely wake up call. But she’s going to be 15 this year so as long as she’s still here, I will deal with it.

Have 3 tickets for the Richmond cup race on April 2nd. Tickets are in the Commonwealth Tower S row 4 seats 10, 11, and 12. These are all the way against the fence so you have extra space for your cooler too. Amazing seats. The face value is 120 a piece and he would like to get 330 total for them. Also comes with a parking pass. If you have any questions just shoot me a message

Feeling down. Slept poorly. Relationship issues with the oldest kid (who is an adult) and the youngest (elementary). Belly hurts. Whine, whine, and then hopefully a beer. I may need a nice walk with good music later today per the advice from u/stickynohte.

Dang, they really upped their game in the past few years - from the pizza crust to the ice cream. 🤞 Hoping they come back!

Congrats! Ask a ton of questions of the inspector, it’ll give you a better sense of what’s right, what’s wrong, what to prioritize with fixes and what can wait.

Impostor Syndrome had me strangled this morning. I was asked to find a judicial Order from 1954, and working from home, I couldn't find it in any of the legal databases. I went on a hunt when I got to the office this morning and was successful!
Now to settle in and wait for the next thing that will make me immediately think (baselessly) "well thats it, they're going to fire me for sure."

I was renting a few years ago and the rent kept going up… I finally had enough and moved elsewhere. But, I get what you’re saying. Housing and what they are charging is way out of control.

You don’t need a bat signal to see if you can find someone to pick up random shit, but you do need a scat signal

My friend has been a bartender for several decades here in RVA and I’m amazed by the rent prices she has found. For a looooong time, I mean up until very recently, she paid $600 for a one bedroom apt. Now she’s got a 3 bed 2 bath house for $1200!

They got those gold-framed, diamond-filament, Gucci filters that Aphrodite rubs on her breasts before packaging. They're expensive.

There's no logical basis for black to be a proper noun but white not be one. The logic from the AP is ridiculous:
>For many people, Black reflects a shared sense of identity and community
A black guy from Richmond and a black guy from Equatorial Guinea don't share a sense of identity and community any more than a white guy from Richmond and a white guy from Latvia.
The terms describe race, not culture. There isn't any good reason for them to have different grammar.

Oh... Well, if it'll make you feel any better I had a classmate who interned for that guy during the Malvo trial. She told me some things about that case that the judge didn't allow for public consumption that changed my mind about him.
Fingers crossed that Goochland will get their act together under public scrutiny.

Didn't Ireland just blankly ban abortion before that bill? I'm not Irish so not super familiar but if that's the first time abortion was allowed it wouldn't be anti choice
