Fallout used to do them on Mondays, but idk if that's still a thing. Haven't been in there in years.

McCormick's definitely does it still. If you go in later in the week they usually have a running list of what's going to be played on Sunday on the chalk board over the bar, left of the register if you're facing it.

Honestly, my favorite Pokemon memory is playing Sword/Shield as an adult. I was so struck by how beautifully it was designed and how far the franchise has come since I was about 8 years old, playing Pokemon red/blue on my gameboy when it first came out. Genuinely made me tear up. Prior to Sword/Shield I had only played gen 1 and 2, and I’ve been a diehard for the newer games ever since.

I want the evidence cited that Austin and Portland have "lost all charm and weirdness".

Unless the landscape in both those cities is nothing but Chilis and other chains and no active local bands or other groups in the arts I don't really know how much the city has irrevocably changed vs. the natural cycle of businesses which are hard to operate long term.

There are plenty of places in Richmond I miss but there also lots of new places that are exciting to see.

Not a good way to meet people but a top tier date idea after someone is found. During October the Byrd shows a ton of horror films and if you go to the right shows the organ player will play spooky pipe organ songs before the horror film starts.

Getting into the metal scene is probably where you’ll meet the most horror fans. The Canal Club has tons of shows of lesser known metal bands.

It's not. It will continue to experience some gentrification and COL increases consistent with the rest of the country, but without a booming tech industry or major cultural attraction like SXSW (or a satirical tv show) to put it on everyone's radar, that kind of exponential growth is not going to happen here. Raleigh-Durham is the next east coast tech hub, with Apple and Google increasing their footprint there, and larger and more diverse job market to boot.

Just my opinion and guess for the future.
