Honestly I agree that it’s immature, stupid, ridiculous and I wouldn’t do that But my dad is the same way 🤷‍♂️ he never laid a finger on me or my mother. Or made me feel unsafe nicest man you’ll ever meet but I grew up like that just thinking oh that’s my dumbass dad so I can’t really say. But he definitely has some issues that need anger management and if you feel unsafe leave

I know it can be hard if you’re in high school but if you have the chance to make more friends I’d definitely focus on that (especially over dating). If you’re in a situation where that’s not really possible it’s also an opportunity to throw yourself into hobbies (again easier said than done though if you’re in a really low place). I just wonder if you can shift in little ways, like from watching YouTube videos to movies.

But more important than either of those is just to feel your feelings. It’s a process we all have to go through and the first one is often the worst. When you come out of it (and you will, with time), you’ll be that much stronger and more capable of whatever comes at you. It really is a “the only way out is through” situation.

My first big heartbreak was when I was 20 and I lost a bunch of weight, couldn’t do anything… scream sobbed in my dorm. It was DEVASTATING, completely rocked me to my core. It passed, but not before I did all the crying and made a bunch of sad playlists and felt really sorry for myself. And after that I knew I could get through anything.

Avoiding feeling your feelings isn’t going to make it go faster, just make sure you make room for some fun too - like watching movies (I just like this one bc it’s easy) or whatever brings you joy. And check in with yourself about whether you’re actually feeling sad in this exact moment, or whether that has just become comfortable, because that’s a thing too.

Things to do you can help yourself is journaling of course. You can write letters to the people who hurt you and really rip into them and what they did wrong, and then burn the letter. Getting adequate sleep, eating regularly, going for walks/moving your body are all things that help with mental health.

I know everyone says do these things, but they really do wonders to your mental well being. It won’t get you all the way recovered but it’ll build good habits and a foundation for when you’re able to seek professional support.

You seem to be aware that there are things that should be reserved only for your partner. These however do include the kind of physical intimacy you practise with your "friend". Don't let her kiss you in any shape or form, don't let her sleep with her arms around you. Also what kind of excuse is "she did is jump into my arms so like obviously I didn’t want her to fall so I caught her" . You enable this behaviour, ok this happened once, that's fine, you should scold her and tell to not do this kind of things. In fact that goes for every behaviour that pushes the line.

You are very disrespectful towards your gilrfriend by not establishing boundaries with your friend and enforcing them.

I’m not a bad person in the way of “oh no she’s evil” I’m a good person and have just made some decisions that don’t fit to many peoples idea of good but I’m alright with that. I love my children and my brother and my husband and those are the most important things.

He explained it the exact same way you did. It’s comforting to hear this come from someone else as well.

Is there anything she did in the time you were dating without a label, that made you want to put the label on things? Or did the urge to table it naturally come?

I’m asking because I want to know if there’s anything I can say or do that will help him put his guard down, other than just giving him the time he needs and continuing to see him.

I’m mostly worried it will blow things up at work and I’ll maybe have to move departments or she seems to think she’ll get in trouble. I worry that if I get moved and I don’t see her as much things will phase out cause I’m not seeing her as much and Iv blown everything up for nothing. It sounds crazy but I’m willing to leave my job if I really came it it down the line if we where fully established so that she wouldn’t get in trouble but she wants to tell senior management now

Here’s my advice to you moving forward: don’t worry about it. And if she ever brings it up again say “you told me not to worry about it.” Treat texts like that literally and not like the passive aggressive bullshit your sister intends.
