Reply to Should I break up with him? by shiftenterspace
You're you're already on the path to breaking up.
This will be main cause:
>Now that I’ve met him and our connection is so great, I wouldn’t imagine wanting to leave to go date other people because I feel as though I’ve met my person.
You don't see it now, but he just poisoned you.
If you try to patch this up, these thoughts will manifest into something worse: I am not good enough for him. He does not see me the same way I see him...My relationship does not mean the same to him... Those will eat away at you over time. He just punctured a hole in your connection.
You're right... breaks are pointless. You don't get to put the reletionship on pause, go fuck around, return and expect everything to go back to normal... it won't be.
Will his feelings ever go away until he explores it? Who knows... but we know that your feelings towards the reletionship and how you feel valued will be changed for the worse.
You will be develop resentment regarding this: I couldn't imagine anyone else because I feel that I met my person... For the reason because it exists for you, but not for him. He just revealed that you're not on the same page.

Almost??? Please get a DNA test done. For both kids. And Maury isn't available anymore.

He’ll turn it against you later and then say that all he was doing is showing his skills off to this girl (probably one of your friends). If you don’t want tit for tat then don’t do it.

Wtf does half of this mean "My daughter who is most likely my husbands" You are one awful human being. Tell him he deserves to know and your kids deserve to know who their father is. I feel so bad for your husband

Reply to comment by little_owl211 in I find it hard to respect my significant others when they tell me stories about letting themselves be treated disrespectfully by [deleted]
I’m judging if they tell me how terrible it was and then later are bringing them up as jokes or things like going from “he used me and pretended he wanted something” to “he’s like a macys model, we fucked for 2 hours straight” to “yeah we talk in class all the time” or it goes from “he burned me so bad” to “I didn’t think it was necessary for me to tell him we’re dating if we’re still talking”. Or “he was cheating with me on his gf and when they broke up I kept fucking him”

Almost definitely. Wow, so not even 100%. You need to tell him now, the longer you wait, the messier this will get. Their biological fathers need to know too. Wanna see the fall out when you wait til the oldest is 18 and does a 23andMe?

Nope nope nope nope nope nope nope.
There is no good reason an older person in a position of authority would ever start a relationship with one of their underlings.
Do not contact her outside of the classroom. Do not reply to any personal messages from her. Keep your relationship as student/teacher only.

You seem aversive to the term toxic. I can say what she is doing is "hurtful" and "unproductive" instead then?
That's great your relationship is otherwise good, but you want to fix this specific thing.
Counseling provides tools for couples to be stronger. It doesn't mean anything is wrong with the relationship or is a last ditch attempt. Even some healthy couples I know go to counseling once in awhile to make sure everything is going well.
Check out this article at least if you want to work on it on your own: https://www.rwapsych.com.au/blog/the-four-horsemen-toxic-communication-styles-and-how-to-rein-them-in/

If she's your teacher, she should know better than to spend time with you one on one. It is putting you both in danger. She is in a position of authority over you and it can be abused.

You might as well ask if people change who they fundamentally are.
Cheating isn't tied to a single behavior- it's a whole series of behaviors that are essential for perpetuating the acts. In order to be a cheater you have to be comfortable with lying, manipulating, gaslighting, reduce your empathy for someone you may/may not care about (but pretend to care about), and putting your wants ahead of someone else's safety and security. On top of that, when you tell the truth you don't have to have a good memory- but when you lie... well now you have to have a good memory for what really happened and what you said happened, and possibly rely on other people to also have good memories and now you're into remembering what you told someone else to remember. Maybe good note taking too? Have a little dossier of lies you've told? Sounds like a lot of work for the cheater, even more work for you to keep up!
It's not a switch that gets turned off, it's several behaviors that the person has to want to change. He actively sought out other people.
You'll be way moved on before there's any hope for him to change.

100% she's using you as an emotional sponge while giving you nothing physical in return.
Probably the type who gets with a partner for supposedly good looks but doesn't share the same chemistry when it comes to emotional connection. It's up to you if you're happy to listen to her blabla while she sleeps around with someone else or if you need the full package
