It sounds like he has depression. I would kindly ask him how he is doing and if there’s anything you can do to help him. Try to get him out of the house by offering to do his favorite things with him. Suggest he tries counseling because you hate seeing him like this make sure to be gentle and let him know how much you love and care about him. It might be good for you to go to counseling too for two reasons 1. You can vent your frustration about this situation and receive effective solutions and advice 2. It might inspire your boyfriend to go if he sees you going. I hope it works out for you two!

I did have a talk with him about this and I think he took it well, but I'm not positive about what "taking it well" would look like in a situation like this. I'm just worried because a lot of the women in my life already disliked him, and Maya told me that multiple women had experiences like Ellie's. Might be a bigger pattern than just a learning experience.

Why do I feel like you are leaving something out of your OP? What exactly did you say that lead her to threaten to lock you out? Also, you seem more concerned about the welfare of your expensive TV than your “fiancé.” You don’t mention at all where you’ve apologised profusely to your likely soon-to-be-ex for saying things that likely hurt her immensely.

No i dont think thats a joke, i think thats his wish. And its fine to want that and express that but if you dont want that, youre not compatible.

Plus I hope he realizes that staying home and managing a household is actually a lot of work so if he doesn’t like to work, then he’s not gonna like that arrangement either.

God forbid you end up bringing in the money and doing everything at home too, like the friend i mentioned.
