No where in your story did you say he called you fat. He commented on your eating habits. Is this something you feel needs to be addressed? If not, then ignore it. He has opinions on what he wants in a partner, and you have yours.

I know that exact feeling. It's such a crappy feeling to feel so alone while in a relationship. I'm a gamer too and so was my ex but he thought just us being in the same room was us hanging out, even though we'd be playing different games. I'd suggest date nights but he'd complain the whole time and make me feel like crap.

I'd say have a big talk with your bf about putting more effort into the relationship and I hope he starts. It sounds like he's become comfortable and just taking advantage of the situation.

While it's nice that this guy seems interested and is trying to make an effort to impress you. Work relationships aren't always the best idea either.

Your husband is concerned about your health and appearance. If you don’t care that he may be losing attraction due to this, you are right, it’s his problem. But don’t complain when he leaves or seeks out others.

So thats a red flag. If hes unwilling to work isnt in school what are the long term prospects? Do you think the relationship could survive you graduating getting a career while he stagnates? Excuses aside if this is someone you see yourself building a life with it should be worrisome that hes not actively building anything even for himself.

I learned a very long time ago to not engage with this line of questioning. If my lack of response to the question drove them away then so would my answer. The only thing that matters is that I do not raise my body count while in a committed relationship. For the record I am in my 50's.

Well, fixing ‘all your issues’ is going to be unrealistic and depression sadly ignores gender as a rule, so her instructions are going to be hard to pull off. Would working on ‘your issues’ with a therapist possibly help? You won’t be able to guarantee that depression will never happen again, all you can do is be proactive about it. Again, actions more than words will be your friend. I also don’t think that feeling of ‘hate’ is going to really go away, if you work on yourself. You will need to talk to tackle that. You also desperately need clarification, if she was also unhappy once you weren’t depressed anymore, as her comments keep suggesting as much.

You really showing her, how much she means to you, is great, but it won’t actually fix the underlying problem. You can’t keep up this level of energy until you two are old and grey - especially being non-combative if something is bothering you, is not a long term strategy.

How much is “too much” only you can decide - I don’t know her. Each person is different.

But yeah, I know I am repeating myself, but what you need is lots and lots of open and honest communication, even if it might not feel great at the time.

No offense, but you really need to work on self-awareness. You have a boyfriend but are purposely allowing the advances of another man. Then, clearly try to use these advances to manipulate your boyfriend. Then come here and complain that your boyfriend didn't get jealous???

This is so messy it's sad. Your new friend is obviously ok with being the other guy or breaking up a couple. You are obviously ok with surrounding yourself with people like him. Your boyfriend is pretty apathetic towards you but from where I sit, this could be him being a jerk or could just be him protecting himself from your messy and immature nature. You are already borderline cheating.

Good luck though....

He’s not upset because you “mentioned your feelings,”. He’s mad because he’s communicated an issue and you doubled-down and disregarded it.

That’s your prerogative, but understand he’s got his own prerogatives as well and may act accordingly.

As for the eggshells, it’s difficult to say how they come into play, given the story you’ve shared here. It doesn’t exactly sound like either of you are having issues saying what you really mean, at least.
