The reason your work buddy is pursuing you is that frequently boyfriends come and go. Your continued engagement with him about non-work matters clearly communicates your interest in him. It also unconsciously communicates your uninterest in your current boyfriend--do you talk about him (or the things you do together) much when you are with the work guy?

Plus, your newer comments about your blah relationship, well hell, looks like you are window shopping for boyfriends. Too bad you work together.

Jesus tapdancing Christ, dude.

> I don’t take shit from people but I take shit from her..

Understatement of the century. This just got worse and worse with every paragraph. Stop looking for distant signs that things can get better; they won't. Look at the wreck of a relationship in front of you. Then leave it the fuck behind.

Anything else I could possibly say has already been said here. Best of luck with this. But don't wait. Just leave.

Tell him that he either shuts up or you start reconsidering the relationship. You can't stay with someone who blatantly criticizes you without giving a shit about your feelings.

You flirt with guy at work and he flirts back. You ask him to let you teach him tennis. That's basically a date at this point.

If I was your BF, and I heard this story, I would nod and smile and plan my exit because it sounds like you and your work friend are probably fucking already.

If you come home one day and he's gone, that's why.

Stop flirting with and planning dates with other dudes if you respect your BF.

I'm probably not someone who should give much advice here, but I'm so sorry you're going through this. It sounds like your mother is abusive.

This is not how your relationship with her should be.

From advice I got (a little similar situation here), it's might be a good idea to try to cut her off.

Again, I'm not a professional, but I'm really sorry that it's happening

If this is the life that you want forever then there is no reason not to continue with him.

But can you articulate what it is about living with your parents and financing the lifestyle of a guy who won't work and didn't even get your some candy on Valentine's Day is so appealing that you want to sign up for 50 more years of it?

When I read that you are not bringing any more $ in from your cleaning business after doubling your staff I was going to push you on that point. Once I read the rest, it became clear that you are choosing to spend your life with an impulsive and irresponsible person who does not give two shits about you. In my experience, people who make the choices you are making will not listen to reason so I am not even going to try to convince you that you are being foolish.

If I'm being 100% honest I don't know how to even be apart from him. I've been friends with him longer than I haven't, he and I know everything about each other, confide in each other out of habit, and I trust him. He is also friends with everyone in my family, all my cousins, my siblings, aunts, uncles. I am best friends with one of his cousins. How do we ever separate? I've never even thought of doing it and can't imagine it really...

Has anyone else been in a situation like this?

Try just being friends first, no intention of being a couple. As she gets to know you, not threatened about anything romantic, you become good friends. From there she may find you are a keeper.

You may be shooting your shot with women that are taken or in the talking stages of someone they want to be with. Just be friendly even to them, you never know who they know in the same boat as you. They may fix you up.

Lol just break up with your girlfriend. She deserves better. Also you’re only 16, so you will probably not last anyway (especially if you’re having these thoughts already)

Either keep it what's in your pants between you and your GF... or break up with her to get something else.

If you're not happy because of something superficial like an ass? You can't control what gets your motor revving... but you can control not being a cheater and a horrible person.

Either stick with the relationship and stop looking at other girls... or go chasing the other girls and break up with your GF on good terms - not after breaking her heart.
