You are not his nanny. You are your partner and if he's not going to support you and encourage you to be your best self (IE you wanting to study) then he's not the one for you.
Essa_ea t1_j2ffo37 wrote
You simply recieved the red flag from her. If your partner doesn't wish and want the best for you and your future then that ain't a good partner and your gf seems selfish and only thinks of herself and her problems.
Focus on your career and your future, trust me it's not worth it to turn your life upside down for one person, especially that you are doing great now and have the advantage of focusing on your study without any distractions.
You have a good brother really man.

As someone who had genuine problems controlling themselves as a child, this sort of self analysis was extremely helpful.
And pre arranged code words can help kind of shock yourself out of the “natural” response

Is this a real post? You are a teenager who is being controlled and isolated by a man almost old enough to be your father.
Get out of this situation. He doesn’t love or respect you. He wants to financially, emotionally and physically imprison and control you.
He sees you as a naive child he can use and manipulate.

Just be aware that you're the one who wants change. So you're the one who had to take ownership of this, getting the list together etc.
Also if you want to to encourage good habits a d train him, then you need to praise and reward him fir his efforts.

Reply to [35M][30F] I shamefully cheated on my girlfriend with my ex-girlfriend [35F] and now she’s pregnant… by [deleted]
If you actually had any guilt, you would've fessed up the minute you regretted it.
You're just regretting the fact there's actual proof to your cheating that you won't be able to hide.
Kindah embarrassing at your big age.

Can you elaborate on what cry-shouting is? Is it just loudly sobbing or do you yell at people etc?

Momma, why are you trying so hard to make this work when he isn’t? Whatever work you put in will never be enough to cover his part of the deal. He obviously can strategize and put in the effort. You see it every time he acts and reacts in this totally unreasonable manner to defend his interests. Now add all those ‘convos’ up during your 8 yrs and tell me if he couldn’t have improved on so much if he’d just given a 1/16th of a fk about your feelings?!?

When I was a kid I had problems controlling my emotions, and it was really hard for me to stop in the moment (I lashed out)
If you can’t pause and think before lashing out yet, at least call yourself out honestly every time afterward. Think about why, what, etc you felt the way you did
Break it down as logically as possible, and then next time you’re angry, try to think about it and ask whether you’re reacting similarly this time
It sometimes takes a while but eventually you can change yourself for the better if you really want to, and you really consistently try to

This entire post is just gross. I hope you’re just a troll.
If on the off chance it’s not a troll post, break up with this creep and go live your life. Of course he wouldn’t want you to go to college, it would teach you to be more independent and self reliant. He needs you to “need” him to feed into what he’s been doing since you were what, 15?
This dude is not your “knight in shining armor”, he was grooming you. Get out and get therapy for the self esteem issues.

I understand. One of my names has been used over 4 generations so far. The other middle name is another one I inherited from an aunt. I’m resigned rather than loving them. My first name is entirely my own.

Honey your self-esteem issues and bad past are exactly why he's able to prey on you. A good partner wants what is best for you and he 100% knows that's not passing on college so you can stay home and watch his kid. He knows that and he doesn't care.
