Reply to comment by KJEveryday in [35M][37F][4.5F] My wife wants to change our daughter’s middle name to her surname. I am hesitant, but want to compromise. Any advice? by KJEveryday
It was clear IMO.
Honestly I think you’re willing to compromise but your wife isn’t.
It should either be an addition to your daughter’s name, or all 4 of you change your last names to Agassi-smith. She’s being unreasonable.
Is it possible she’s suffering from PPD and this is how it’s manifesting?

Seems like you are not getting what you need out of the relationship. You have asked for it, and you still are not getting it.
Dump him

He lost feelings and is seeking emotional validation elsewhere or he thinks you’re cheating. The only solution is to ask very calmly about it. (I only say he thinks you’re cheating because I was in a similar position where I stopped doing that for my ex boyfriend because I thought he was cheating on me, so I stopped being affectionate)

You both need individual and couples counseling. If she won’t go, you go on your own and work on yourself. It’s pretty fucked up you’ve been thinking about another person for so much of your relationship. The way you feel about Diane is most likely just a fantasy because you don’t feel happy. Rather than focusing on the real issues and working in improving them, you have developed a fantasy about Diane and think your life would be better with her and in all honesty you’d probably still not be happy.

She sounds like she’s being friendly. There’s nothing you posted that signifies she has any interest in you as anything other than a friendly coworker.

It's from Full Metal Jacket. A few people have seen it.

I think some of what you are saying is accurate. I think we are all tired of the SAHM vs working mom/parent argument though. I’ve personally done both. I can say for a fact that both are equally challenging - just in different ways.
What I find alarming with this guy’s post is the wife actually saying “my needs are more important than yours.” She isn’t even saying that their needs are different. Just point blank that hers are more important.
That smacks of entitlement and arrogance.
OP, your needs are also important. This whole “happy wife, happy life” thing needs to be left in 2022.
