You say here yourself that his beliefs are not compatible with you as a person. And yet you're still trying to make it work?

He isn't going to understand that his statement is fucked up because he doesn't want to understand. "Boys will be boys" is such a harmful dismissal of the actual issue. There isn't really a "biological inclination" to want to rape someone. You've already tried to explain that to him and he just wants to "agree to disagree" and sweep it under the rug.

You can either let him do that and be okay with it, or you can stick up for yourself and refuse to carry on in a relationship with a guy who thinks that he's just biologically wired to want to rape you but his "emotions" keep him from doing it.

To be honest she sounds really manipulative. She’s already commenting on your appearance, sexual performance and is already talking about how all men want her etc. she’s either a pampered, spoilt bitch or she’s trying to lower your confidence so she can start controlling you. I’d say beware.

You are delusional to think that he is mindless and stupid. He is intelligent and mature, or else he would never be in my life. I realize that we are at different stages and this is why I asked my questions, but you seem ready to troll rather than give advice. A relationship might develop because of the experiences we already share. He wants something to work and I am wondering if it is smart to shut down love when I like him too.

I’m a bit wary of both of my parents because of their loveless marriage. It seriously messed me up seeing them fight for years. Other than being culturally divided from my dad, I’m not as close to him because i find some of his views to be more…conservative? He’s a bit racist and homophobic. Although my mom isn’t necessarily an ally either, she at least doesn’t mind people of other races or identities.

I love them both but there’s a lot of issues between our family that I can’t change. And thank you for your insight!
