Not sure if this is helpful, but have you considered buying? If your budget is up to $3500, I'm thinking you could buy a nice little ranch house in North Providence with a yard and a driveway. I'd look in the area bounded by Smith Street, Woonasquatucket Ave, and Fruit Hill Ave. There are probably some options north of Smith in that general vicinity as well.

Good luck with your search!

I made the commute from Providence/Warwick to Back Bay about 3-4 days a week for two years. It wasn’t so bad at first, but it becomes exhausting after a while.

As others have mentioned, cost, reliability, and travel time can be an issue. The days can get very long very quickly, especially if you can’t catch an express train for one reason or another. I found that the most reliability issues occurred at the end of the day (southbound). The early express trains were pretty reliable, however.

It’s a hell of lot better than driving, but either way you are getting up much earlier and arriving home much later than you otherwise would.

If it weren’t for COVID closing my office entirely (I now work from home) I probably would have quit by now.

May I suggest La Piñata on Westminster Providence..not fine dining but if you like authentic family style Mexican food...this your place. Reasonably priced delicious food. The house margarita is ideal. On Wednesday’s and Saturday’s they have a Mariachi band. The staff is wonderful and they don’t mind special orders. Good luck!

NYT: "Netflix Dropped Chris D’Elia Show After Sexual Misconduct Allegations"

Which concludes with:

> Other streaming platforms have pulled content with Mr. D’Elia. Hulu, Amazon Prime Video and Comedy Central are no longer hosting an episode of the comedy show “Workaholics” in which Mr. D’Elia plays a child abuser. Mr. D’Elia’s comedy special from 2013 is also no longer available on Comedy Central’s website.

It's bizarre how people come out of the woodwork to go bananas protecting the honor of specifically sex offenders. You don't see them jumping to make sure no one calls them a "sunglasses thief" until they're convicted, but they sure are motivated here. Really makes you wonder (read: worry) about their ulterior motive.

You've posted like a dozen times in this discussion.

It seems like you're the one who doesn't have anything better to do besides carry water for some dude who has a mountain of evidence saying he's a total creep and predator.

Why do you care whether people are looking at the evidence against him? Why is it so important to you that no one talks about this guy? This weird resistance to talking about it is how sexual predators operate.

I did the same from Providence. Parked in the mall and walked over. The garage there sucks. I found that taking the commuter in the morning and Amtrak at night was best. In the morning, if you miss one (traffic, etc), there will be another one rather quick. With amtrack, you've got one shot, so to speak. Also, with Amtrack, you can book a few weeks ahead and save big bucks, cancel if you have to, and they add your fare back to your account. Used to take the 5:30 home.
