This person literally just posts sensational news articles about Providence and the surrounding area... Why? I'm in Providence almost daily and don't encounter this shit. I guess when it's all you consume... Then yeah the world is scary. Sucks living like that :(

Grew up in Minnesota and had less than one snow day a year. A foot of snow? No problem, the snow plowing operations are world class and all the streets will be cleared. –20° windchill? Better layer up because that accounts for a quarter of the days in January! It took full a full whiteout blizzard or colder than –50° windchill during school hours for school to be canceled. Kids these days smh lol

Edit I was half asleep when I wrote this and it’s only a half serious comment so everyone can just calm down, and also I thought this was for all of RI, not just Providence so this is fair

Honestly, the little weekend we spent on Block Island even in early May one year was not good. Still felt like winter there. Mostly closed, very windy, very cold, hard to get around. We had a fun enough time with our couple friends but would never do it again—not for the high cost hotel.

The only consistent place I’ve found fossils is in shale cliffs at end of Cory Lane in Portsmouth. At the water, head right for a few hundred feet at low tide and plenty of Carboniferous fern fossils in the layers.
