Another song about a stalker, or at least desperate/futile/unrequited love: Cake’s “The Distance.” There’s one guy still on the track, driving and striving as fast as he can, thinking of someone for whom he still burns…she’s hoping in time that her memories will fade…

EDIT - okay, to everyone downvoting me, what’s the song actually about then? It isn’t just about a race, it’s absolutely a metaphor, but for what?

The slogan could have been written by a man or a woman. Most likely though it was written by a committee consisting of men and women that don't work for UPMC but their media consultant.

Whatever the case it seems pretty Orwellian.

I think the "law enforcement will be on site" was mentioned because people get shot in mass casualty events at music festivals and clubs in the US. And it happens a lot. It was meant to be reassuring, not creepy. I think some people avoid larger gatherings these days because of worry about a mass shooter .
