Try getting bridge sidewalks clean in Pittsburgh. It's the same thing. PennDOT or county (whoever owns the bridge) says it's local, and vice versa.

Cop unions shouldn't exist because cops' purpose is to protect the owner class

This kind of reminds me of the time I had the genius idea in my 20’s to build a shanty boat and dock it at the North Shore. I did my research at the time and found that there’s essentially no law stopping anyone from doing that - which is pretty crazy. So if the going gets tough and you need to move to a shanty boat, you can.

Growing up in western PA, I didn’t realize until I Moved away that it wasn’t normal for your basement toilet/ foundation to flood regularly.

Even if you had access to the regular option it is extremely hard to purchase a vehicle at auction that doesn’t need a lot of work. Most cars bought at auction are sold for a loss by the dealer in hope to acquiring a trade or making money w financing and warranty. If you have cash stick to Facebook and Craigslist. However I see people listing their cars for above what dealers sell them on Craigslist.

Am I the only one in Pittsburgh with a 100+ year old house AND a completely dry basement? I would think this is not normal but based on the comments it sounds like it’s me who has the abnormal basement.

I’m wondering about the curb & sidewalk that goes around the actual basement slab. What’s the point of that?

Making me glad to live in a mobile home with NO basement!
Growing up in a suburban tract home with a basement that flooded regularly made me wonder why anyone bothers with those things. Usually they're uncomfortably cold and musty; anything you store down there picks up an odor that's hard to get rid of. WHY GHOD WHY?

Unfortunately I am not allowed to say anything pertaining to that because of the settlement ageement. But I can say the entire thing was an absolute nightmare.

Why doesn't someone untie the boat?
Also it's bullshit that we aren't naming whoever's boat it is. I get it, dude doesn't want to pick it up, but if you're a big enough boy to buy a boat and dock it, you're a big enough boy for your neighbors to know you suck.

Very strange. This is a case where the police are getting soft treatment by the media which they extend to nobody else. Plenty of other institutions don't enjoy this kind of treatment.

Did you win/get any money in a settlement? Also who did you sue, the builder, repairman, previous owners, etc.?

Our basement has a sub pump and it’s never once kicked on in 3 years. We got new gutters and downspouts before we moved in and have not had a single flooding problem.
As a fun side note, there was a hole in the side of our home from someone stealing the coal shoot door. We had to have that bricked up… but the previous owner literally did not give a single solitary fuck. Soooo that could have been some of the water too.

If it hits a pier then the entire bridge gets shut down for inspection.
