Interesting. The only time I see steam coming out is the summer. Is it running all the time but on low mode ?

This definitely tracks well with my experiences of what I see when I go to various other metros.

All ways moving did a great job with my move. I moved from a 3rd floor apartment (no elevator, narrow winding stairs) to a house with a steep driveway and then a flight of stairs into the house. They were super fast, faster than quoted. I paid up front and they ended up refunding me a couple hundred dollars since they were so far ahead of schedule!

That's honestly how I imagined it would look. Also weird this isn't upvoted more because it answered the question better than anyone

Delco is the opposite side of a pretty big state. The city vs suburb divide is still true in Allegheny county, but if you are new to delco, and not from Allegheny, maybe this isn’t the place for you. These are very different counties, and Pittsburgh and Philly are VERY different cities.

See- I would 😅😂 I’m in Point breeze north and I regularly wait for a non crowded P2 versus a P1…..like every day.
I’d do the same with a P3. But plan my day accordingly so I’m not late for work.

No ones going to take that longer detour through Oakland on the P3… They will still crowd onto P1 P2. I remember when they tried to stop P2s from entering downtown, it served no purpose but make P1 that more crowded….
Heads at PRT couldnt be more “I work for transit, but damn if you ever catch me riding the bus” out of touch people.

Actually, I think it would significantly help ease congestion on P1’s by going downtown. Right now, P1’s are so crowded every single bus that they really need help decongesting them (at least, they’re super crowded in the morning).

Chains are mostly in the suburbs

P3 going downtown, just made no sense to me…. It’s not needed not from a Busway perspective or Oakland, and making people from beyond Wilkinsburg transfer????? Who was this benefiting?

McKnight Rd: You can add Arby's to make it a trifecta and visit all 3!

I don't think your friend lives in Pittsburgh proper then. What chains?

Not sure about your specific requirements, but we had a good experience w/ friendly movers. our old house had two flights of stairs inside, and 5 stairs from the front door down to street level, and it didn't come up as an issue.

The out of town "chains" you are referencing that are located in the terminal are both local conglomerates from the region, but just not Pittsburgh based.
Primo subs is a Philly local chain and Aslin Beer is a northern Virginia local chain. Primo subs does have a lot of locations, but this is effectively a Philly chain.

Going off this map of metro areas, I would say no, it's not a particularly high "chain" city: https://i.imgur.com/7lc6EY4.png

This makes me so sad. Partner and I have a tradition of a birthday dinner wherever the celebrant wants. I was so in the mood for a steakhouse this year, but reasonable Uber/Lyft distance was a must, ruling out Napa Prime. Every steak place in or around downtown just gives me the super pretentious chain-y more money than class vibe.
