If you can get clear title quickly, it really wouldn’t matter if Carvana goes belly up after you buy a car.

Carvana is sitting on a mountain of debt they borrowed to expand as well as inventory they bought when used car prices were high. Now interest rates are climbing and used car prices are falling and Carvana is caught in between.

If you can, I’d try to buy a new enough car that you could still shop an extended manufacturer’s warranty for it.

Different makes handle it differently, but generally it still has to be within the original bumper to bumper warranty. Some dealers around the country do a nice side business selling discounted manufacturer’s extended warranties online. I just got one for a new car from a dealer in central PA.

Carvana (and places like Carmax) have really high prices for used cars. You can’t negotiate. You do get the 7 day return privilege, I guess. But that wouldn’t make up for the higher price imo.

I’m glad to see something there. I worked downtown from 2014-2020 and saw the fall of Macy’s and subsequent emptiness, which both saddened and annoyed me greatly. Downtown is rife with higher end men’s clothing stores and has no equivalent for women’s wear; it was bizarre and off-putting. Not to mention I missed having a place to shop for household merch that wasn’t a tired old Burlington Coat Factory.

It's funny, I was downtown this weekend and had a very similar thought walking through the Union Trust building. Thinking of all the people who passed through that building at one time. And how now people make memories there in different ways. But eventually whether it be because we'll kill each other off, or that we'll figure out how to leave Earth to colonize other worlds, it's likely all this that we've built will sit empty and then eventually reclaimed until there's virtually no trace they were ever there and all.

Absolutely no doubt, but when I'm downtown I always wish those big department stores were still around. I know they aren't viable anymore, but there will always be something special about them to me. Especially around Christmas. But you're completely right, at least it's serving a purpose.

No women have shown up, but they would be welcome. Guys age range from like 20-60s. If a woman with soccer experience showed up, she would be better than at least a handful of people
