Just depends on where you live. My kids played at sportrak in Sewickley, Tri County outside of Cranberry. One of my sons also played up in Butler for a winter. My nephew plays at Tri county as well, plus he has played at PISA in Cheswick and a place in Washington that I forget the name of. There is another place in New Castle that I'm not too familiar with but I know its there. As far as east and south of Pittsburgh I am less familiar.

City or Suburbs? If you have a car there are many very affordable suburbs that aren't a terrible commute to the city. Otherwise, public transportation isn't great here. To answer your question though, Pittsburgh is relatively affordable compared to other cities.

There are a lot of places you could check in the Strip before Penzeys. My normal search order is:

  1. Salem Market
  2. Many More - in the back past the fish tanks
  3. Lotus

Salem has bigger bags of good quality cumin for a couple bucks.

I mostly do this, because I do find the taste and aroma better, but sometimes you just don’t have the time or equipment ready to grind spices in the moment. I still keep ground cumin on hand for this reason.

There are several indoor arenas around but as far as I know they are full with leagues all winter. I've not heard of any pickup games at any of the places I frequent.

There are a million local markets for whatever you are looking for, cumin you can get anywhere. Mexican IGA on Broadway, Black cumin from the uzbeck/russian store in Mt wash, indian from 1 of the 30 stores around town. You don't go to penzeys cuz it's super cheap, you got to penzeys for quality and to support one of the only loudly outspoken anti republican establishments in this hick-ass hellscape.

I kind of agree, BUT...

The proportion of human adults who meet this level of "responsible" is probably no more than about 60%, and this is incompatible with our current system of allowing gun ownership by default to virtually all adults except convicted felons. I should not be allowed to walk into a store and buy a gun solely by virtue of how long it's been since I came out of my mother's vagina. The absolute lowest bar possible would be to require me to have at least taken some sort of half-assed safety course, like you do for cars or boats or even for a hunting license.

And, of course, here in PA we regulate the sale of NON-ALCOHOLIC BEER more heavily than we do the sale of ammunition.
