I have a friend opening up a vegan food truck in April. It's all international street food veganized. So might fill that niche a little bit? Definitely not as hard core punk rock as Onion Maiden!

I keep getting messages from their recruiters. How the heck do they think anyone is itching to work for them right now.

Yeah, Sheetz needs tons of land for parking, which is at a premium and more expensive in the city. Plus most commercial districts and neighborhoods wouldn't want a big tacky red structure in their area.

Can't speak to the current economy there, but I think the trend of the past 15 years there has been pretty steady. Not the type of boom you have in a lot of Sun Belt places, but much more stable and vibrant than some struggling Rust Belt cities.

It'll leave that niche open, hopefully someone else can come in to fill it.

The city is making it harder to get any kind of drive through permit (for good reason.... Even just a Wendy's does horrible things on Baum). So I'm sure we won't get a new chik fil a.

The property millage is lower in the city. And the state doesn't allow the city to collect another kind of corporate tax.

You are 100 percent allowed to split a water bill if terms are laid out in the lease. What law are you referencing?

You could... but if it's in your neighborhood, other houses in the area having higher taxes for whatever reason could work against your favor.
But then again, taxation is theft so why encourage the government?

It’s an allegheny county law. You aren’t even allowed to install private submeters for water or gas

Lol... I work half a block away from where the latest shooting happened. This article makes it sound like it's a warzone... it isn't. And as far as there being a supposed lack of police... the police station is a block down on the other side of the street. And directly across is the T Station... which usually has a noticeable PAT Police presence. You want to fix crime? Try fixing poverty, income inequality, and the affordable housing crisis. Try making mental health services accessible and affordable so the people on the street that desperately need it can get it. Crime is a symptom of problems that we don't even try to fix... and more police are just a bandaid on a bullet hole.

The lease is the most important thing. It’s not illegal to have tenants split a bill, despite what some have offered. Now armed with all the information I’d proceed to the landlord, you have no problem paying for water, but paying for a leak that’s not in your unit is not your responsibility, and the timeliness of the repair matters as well. Email the landlord, don’t call, and if it’s handled in person or via a call, email them anyway highlighting the points you talked about. Ex- I was just reaching out after our conversation yesterday and just wanted to confirm…
Edit: the key legal term here is foreign load, the extra amount added to the bill by the leak, which should be pretty easy to show with records
