And the Cumberland Valley/Central PA area is in the rain shadow of the Appalachians and it can get really really dry there in the summers.

If you give some more hints to the kind of stuff you'd want, we could give good recommendations.
Like art museums or history museums? Flowers? Outdoorsy or hiking stuff? Pro sports? Ice skating, bowling? Drinking?
Ross Park Mall is still around but if you just want to go to a generic mall I'm sure you have those in Columbus too.
When I have first timers visiting this city I like to recommend them to just go to the heart of a relatively walkable neighborhood and just experience walking through all the restaurants and shops and bars etc. Go to Butler Street in Lawrenceville and you might be set for half a day tbh. Another couple hours around Smallman Street in the Strip District, another couple hours on Walnut Street in Shadyside.
Food wise, check Yelp cuz there's a lot of good spots including a bunch of good international cuisines. Haven't been but I hear the Grand Concourse is pretty overpriced / overrated. Yeah the view is great but you could also get the view at any of the viewpoints on Mount Washington. Either way, definitely take the incline up to the top as it's a unique experience.

If you have Uhaul boxes, take them back to Uhaul. They'll take them back. Otherwise, pick a few boxes a little bigger than a case of beer or a medium sized Amazon box, set them aside, and break everything else down, and stick them in the ones you set aside.

great question, I've always thought one would thrive in South Side and Oakland (doesn't even have to be a gas station, just a convenience store)

Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History if they're more "mature." Children's Museum is great too, but I'd vote for the Carnegie Museums. Both museums are connected and one ticket gets you into each. I don't think they'd be too into the Art side (my 8 year old is in spurts). Carnegie Science Center is also GREAT but can get SUPER crowded on Saturdays, though if you don't mind it's a good time plus the Sportsworks which is cool. Other option would be outdoor ice skating at Schenley ice rink. Can couple Phipps into that, but unless your kids are into plants and stuff (mine is!) it might fall flat. Any of those would be worth researching to see what aligns more prominently with your family! As far as dinner spots go, yeah I'd say no to the Grand Concourse. Depends what kind of meal you want, but search the community for posts and you'll find something. What kind of food and whatnot. There's some really cool local restaurants that have good food and are in good spots and not all fluff and no meat like Grand Concourse.
P.S. We visited Columbus for the first time last October for a concert and LOVED it! Even discovered Thunderkiss Coffee (a coffee roaster) and have ordered beans twice since. Cbus is a cool town!

My point was that the 49ers have been here taunting us all week and no one got violent. No one got beer thrown at them. None of that happened. I provided this example to say that if they can show up for a game that’s going to decide the Super Bowl and not have all these violent things you are talking about happen to them, then so can you.
I get it. We are talking about the city that created Mr.Rodgers. If you are looking for a hug from the opposing team during playoffs, Philadelphia isn’t it. I’ve heard your point. You think Philadelphia is a violent hell hole that no one should ever go to and no child should ever witness. All of Philadelphia fans are meanies who will beat you up and steal your lunch money. Doesn’t seem like anyone is going to change your mind and that maybe you are the reason our slogan is no one like us, we don’t care. Have fun not being in the Super Bowl this year.
Edit: you know I was never defending beer can throwing or any acts of violence carried out by few Eagles fans. It was the first line of my first response. So at this point you’re just making wild generalizations and assumptions to my point that all Eagles fans are not like that. I’m truly sorry you feel unsafe wearing your Steelers jersey in Philadelphia.

If you think those two links are no more then friendly banter DURING A PLAYOFF GAME FOR THE SUPERBOWL then I think you probably should stay away from Philadelphia. I think maybe you should stay away from sports.

papowerswitch has had pretty terrible rates for DQE customers over the past few years. sometimes you find something that's a 1/10th of a penny different and it isn't worth saving the $3 or whatever a month especially if you're dealing with a scammy supplier that jacks up the rates after the whatever period is over, etc.

if you have a 220 v line you can install a heat pump water heater with electric backup and get rid of the 2nd water heater and save a lot of money.

Yes this. We have a DH in the basement and runs almost non-stop 6-months out of the year, and of course a freezer in the basement, which are notorious at gobbling up electric as well.

I've been going to Dr. Christopher Hayner downtown for several years now and can't rave about him enough. I can't speak to Cigna specifically, but his office manager is an absolute rock star as well. One time I didn't even realize I had an issue with a claim until my next visit, when she casually explained how she'd un-screwed them without even having to bother me. She just knows all the companies and plans cold, and it wouldn't surprise me if she's got a direct-dial network as well. Well worth at least a phone call to discuss your circumstances.
