Lots of great suggestions, but we did end up choosing Serafino's! Exactly what we were looking for, felt like a family restaurant! Very good food, very cozy feeling, and the people were great!

I can't explain that. I have never had a bad meal there.

That link also includes a sign-up for their alternative paper, Pittsburgh Union Progress. It’s free and extremely helpful to them as a way of proving public support!

I think this year is the one where I don't shovel the sidewalk and parking spots a single time this winter.
Why? Because I bought a new snow blower in October. And I won't get to use it a single time this year.

Just show up at your local game store and ask people what they're playing and if you could join in.
Go play magic the gathering on a friday night, have someone teach you how to play.

Make sure you call ahead for a reservation, that place is always packed every night. And for good reason!

Most of the places I’ve been to in Sq Hill have it. Maybe what you’re looking for is listed as “beef hor fun” on the menu.

Tasteusa is a well known scam around here. Their taco festival was terrible! Will always skip their events.

Yeah and it looks like that car crashed into the entrance to the pedestrian tunnel making it even more difficult to travel between the Hill and Polish Hill. I wonder if they're going to rebuild the pedestrian bridge that got rekt last year or just allow the neighborhoods to continue to sever from one another.

We went in February 2020 at Rivers Casino, before we knew what COVID would become, and I'll tell you what -- if I had gotten deathly ill at a festival that mediocre, I would have been pissed.

You can't find it here because it mostly relies on fresh made wide rice noodles. They're okay refrigerated for a day or two, but really not great frozen, and a pain to make in small quantities. If you're not living somewhere with a big enough Chinese population it's not going to be as good/popular, which means that most places won't have it.
That being said I've definitely had it from Szechuan Spice and it was pretty good.

They needed to completely redesign Smithfield Street. I would not be surprised if there was a Ghostbusters 2 hell slime river underneath.
The nexus seems to be that one street with the library, the church and the Burlington store. It's also right where the P1 busses pick up. It gets very very crowded at times, especially rush hour. I just think people get overwhelmed by the intensity and act out. Some of the things you see on that particular block will break your heart.
It's also right next to Mellon Park, which is for some reason closed constantly. It's a city park that we can't use. Opening that up would increase the openness and vibe of the place. If they have to assign a security guard, so be it. I think it'd be worth it. Wealth disparity factors in as well. Grant is business and Smithfield tends to be more affordable, low income (mixed randomly with mountains of wealth). They feel like streets in two different cities.
We need more breathing room, there especially.

If it’s too cold to do stuff, I’d recommend upgrading your coat and boots. This is a great time of year for clearance sales on winter technical gear.
I’m not saying it’s any fun on a rainy day, but getting out for a walk really helps me with the winter blues.

I worked there. It’s something like 1 oz coco Lopez, 1 oz lime juice, 1 oz tequila. That’s what I was told by one of the bartenders. You could also play with the ratios.
