Agent here: all company rates are going up right now. Why? Higher parts cost (new and used) paying you way over and above normal total loss value if you wrecked your car so you can buy another inflated priced car, paying maximum rental car coverage due to the parts shortage, distracted driving and fatalities are still a problem. With that said, Allstate is on fire right now as a company. Get other quotes now. Lastly, your Tesla is expensive to repair or replace, and Philadelphia in city rates are and always have been absurdly high.

I don't what their official name is, but sandwiched in between Lehigh and the viaduct, starting close to Frankford and running to about Trenton. I assume we are talking about the same place.

And there is no accounting for taste, but you couldn't pay me to live on a 7-lane stroad, especially one that the city just had a chance to calm and choose violence instead. And even worse, that stroad cuts you off from literally every amenity within walking distance and you have to walk a bunch of blocks to get to a signaled intersection to avoid jaywalking, with one of those intersections being the absolutely maniacal frankford/coral/lehigh intersection? like I said, you couldn't pay me, because at that point you might as well just live in the suburbs somewhere. I feel the same way about that big new development on the river behind the thriftway shopping center.

Ha, well I guess we are talking about 15-20 years ago. Its hard to fault people for being young.

And I don't want to make it sound like it was terrible in the late aughts, either, there wasn't a ton to do compared to today but it was still a very nice place to live with el access, and it never took more than a conversation for people to warm up to you. As long as you weren't condescending you'd be fine. (Ok, I mean, it did help that I am white but I wouldn't call Fishtown unique in that way)

What kind of car do you drive??? My Honda CRV was like $650 for 6 months with progressive when I just renewed living in fishtown. Full coverage, but a clean driving record. Either way, look into switching companies but rates did go up for everyone recently.

Insurance rates rise via zip code.

If more claims are made in your zip or by drivers who reside in your zip it’ll effect your rate.

My friends car windows have been smashed 7x in the last few months in fishtown. I’m sure he’s not the only one (nothing visible in car obviously)

So with claims going up so will your insurance regardless of your personal claims or history.

Edit to add the window smashing was in OP same zip code.

The faster we stop the mindless finger pointing and hold our local city officials accountable the better.

This city fails to fund every service for children every single budget every single year.

The schools, libraries and pools are the very last item on the docket and they cry poor and finger point every year. This city has a massive budget and provide shit services across the board.

Information on public employees is public, so it's not like there are more than 7 librarians being paid under the table. Sounds like you've just been fortunate in the schools you've visited, but your experiences don't trump data.
