Reply to What the hell do I do about a trash bag that has been slashed open when trash collection doesn't get it? by bibbitybobbityfuck
I saw a dude sweeping up his block (South Philly) last month while walking by and witnessed a neighbor open her door, hand him some baked goods and thank him. I thought, what a wonderful thing to witness.
I decided to sweep up beyond my stoop the next week and 3-4 neighbors watched in amazement, called me the new block captain - all because I was tired of seeing broken glass on the block.
I hope if you continue to do what you're doing you'll inspire someone else (like my lazy ass, or maybe one of your lazy neighbors) to do the same.

Yo I had a similar deal in the early 2000s til about 08. We used to park in the school lot at 4th and George, they’d keep it open and the deal was just be gone 7am. New residents started abusing it so they started locking up; on the one hand I was pissed, but on the other I used to love seeing people bug out that their car was trapped

Hello? North Philly SEPTA RR station? Some of the RR stop there and easy enough to get to Jefferson station and take one stop on a train or MFL. Amtrak stops there. MFL does too.

In South Philly, if you abandon it, they will park in it. Without fail.

All the restaurant in morgan hall n shops foot locker the hair store shouldnt be there the wendys q Doba oh brother (what college kid has 25 bucks to eat a cheeburger n fries everyday let alone a community member) if morgan hall is temples cafeteria than they should be providing meals to the students not allowing chic fila n the others to be there but becuse temple in in the middle of the of a neighbour hood the corporate companys want to serve the comunity n and the students. But i agree the chick fila the sushi place n the other should be student only resturants due to their location inside the building

The article states that businesses that generate a certain amount of trash must pay for a private company to collect their trash, and that the city does not do it for them.

Honest question: if we don't refer to the mall as being a part of/disrupting Chinatown, why will this stadium referred to as being "in Chinatown" considering it's, not.

Except those that live surrounding it don't want it. I include myself in that and I live on the other side of Broad, about 10-15 minutes walk to where they propose to build this stadium. It would be much better in North Philadelphia (or keep in South Philly where it is). It would revitalize that area and bring more restaurants and businesses. It would actually be INVESTING in a part of Philadelphia that the city for the most part ignores.
