There's a building between Penn Treaty Park and on the northern side of the casino. It was in a weird financial limbo for a few years, then it magically burnt down and has been just the early stage concrete foundation/ supporting structures remaining, but it was purchased by a new developer in 2022 and there is some plan to make some type of density-style development on that lot (I think it was like 190 units or something)... there is also another development right on the southern side of the casino that I think is recently broke ground as well. South, north and across the street from the Casino are a handful of projects currently going up or soon to begin going up.

> If you are traveling to somewhere along the NEC from Philly and aren’t taking Amtrak, you should be!

I know we are pretty far away from a point where we focus on this kind of problem and that a lot of kinks would need to be worked out, but I would use Amtrak a LOT more if there was a way to bring a medium to large dog on it. If I could bring my dog then I could use Amtrak to go see my family for the holidays or go back and forth between my place in Philly and my girlfriends place in jersey city. As it stands right now, I have to own a car, which is incredibly annoying.

Second this! My daughter went to Plymouth Meeting Friends School until 6th and Abington Friends School 7-12 and it could not have been a better experience for her. Not every child is ready for the testing and study rigor of a GFS in the middle schools years and PMFS and AFS were the perfect fit for my daughter’s emotional needs and educational pace. Of course, every child is different, but I would recommend Quaker education and value system to any family that can afford it and can commute it (we were CC to Jenkintown, so no problem there). My daughter graduated from a top-tier college in ‘21, is working in her chosen field, and is going to business school in Philly for her CPA soon. All while living on her own with no $$ support from mom and dad. AFS fostered her independence, intellectual curiosity, and respect for others with a beautiful campus, sports opportunities, and 6 to 1 student teacher ratio. She could have gone anywhere after college (she had internships in Italy and Japan) but she wanted to come back to Philly and live her life here. I think that says a lot about the impact AFS had on her. 10/10!
