Kenney ran on this and dropped the ball, but there are a lot of other officials who could and should be doing something. It’s inexcusable.

The place is consistently packed. It's not my favorite spot, I'm not huge on craft beer and prefer a diviwr atmosphere in my drinking establishments, but it's good for East Falls and I'd hate to see it forced out.

I’m from China but if a place starts charging me $18 a bowl for hand drawn noodles, they can fuck right off

It was at Grant & the Boulevard, where Walmart & Lowes is now.

Man I'm conflicted here. Dude definitely deserves some street justice for parking like a twat but also fuck dog owners that leave their dog shit wherever. What is the car owner gonna come take these bags and find a trash can for them? Fuck no they're just gonna throw them on the sidewalk or street.

I will say a few points in favor of Starbucks. It's open before I start work and after I end it, while no other non-corporate coffeeshop seems willing to do either. They are never out of anything at 9am. They don't randomly close. They have bathrooms. They are fast. Their coffee is waaaay better than Dunkin and sometimes better than the boutique coffee shops too. They will fund employees' college educations.
This sounds very hail corporate, but Starbucks has always been pretty good imo.

Hear, hear. at the very least be properly marked at eye level -- I feel like even that's only happening ~30% of the time.

There definitely loads of all cash businesses in Philly that are multimillion dollar operations.

You can literally get better rates with no negotiation from Square and handle payments on any device: https://squareup.com/us/en/pricing

When summoned, I arrive! /u/mkc44, welcome to Philly!
Generally, I'm partial to the Northwest areas if someone says they need parking (Manayunk, East Falls, Mt. Airy, etc.). These areas also have plenty of outdoor space. Parking is just not really a thing in many other 'hoods, but you can occasionally find one in Northern Liberties or Old City.
For suburbs, there aren't a ton of rentals, but rather more listings for sale. My buyers generally like Jenkintown, Drexel Hill, and Bucks County. But that is very, very different than city life. I feel you should nail down first which kind of experience you want before pursuing housing. With keen eyes, you can definitely find some rentals, too.
Let me know if I can be helpful in any other way!

Good point, only union workers work slow.
Every McDonalds in the city must be unionized I guess.

Gotta love how people think “ethnic” food should be cheap when the work that takes to make it well is as much or more than any western cuisine. Also the economy affects everyone, prices are higher everywhere and when you use high quality ingredients that means more cost

But it also seems that parking, stopping and standing are separate legal concepts and the statute only prohibits parking there. I rarely see someone park, shut off the engine and then leave the car in a bike lane. So most have them haven't technically "parked".
