We had a permit for moving in, but then our movers pushed off delivery a day. Turns out what we really needed/used was friendly neighbors. If you are on good terms with your neighbors, see if they can help you out by moving their cars as needed.

Lukewarm take: The steak-to-cheese ratio at Dalessandro's makes for a near-inedible brick with provolone, but is excellent if you get American cheese and some toppings.

No shit. I can make my sidewalk fine but my neighbors don't bother and have literal holes in their crumbling ones that the city does nothing to make them fix.

Problem is all that money collected by PPA would just go to the rural areas and not us because the PPA isn't a Philly company.

I would say that this is only time that other dog owners leaving bagged dog poop in anything but a trash can is acceptable, but I think we all know that this person is just going to toss the bags (and probably the tickets) right on the ground, so it's back to square one here...

I can’t get you any closer to the water hole than that. Research what a managing director does and how they oversee operations, implement policies and functions. Research what a budget director does under a Mayor’s administration. Google rhynhart advocates for the privatization of PGW. Google Mayor Nutter admin and Rhynhart shut down several schools. This will all come up. Look into how many Americans lost their homes in 08, the people who committed suicide because of debt and foreclosures because of firms like Bear Stearns who over leveraged their debt by approving folks who couldn’t afford those loans in the first place. Her invovlememt as the managing director of credit derivatives is intrinsically linked to the debt defaults that occurred in 08. To act like she wasn’t involved/complicit in the 08 recession is ignorant. She wasn’t a 1st or 2nd year associate out of college getting people loans, she was their freaking managing director.

Ticketing and towing cars plus actual traffic enforcement? We’d have free healthcare, free rent, free food, free internet, and a stipend each month

Cars parked on sidewalk are like raisins in a chocolate chip cookie, just not the place for them

If it's committed by an adult they should face consequences for it.
You don't just go tagging places of worship, it's just a matter of respect.

And whose job is it to make sure that property owners are maintaining sidewalks and sidewalk access ?

Unironically yeah. He's been against any zoning changes, especially on Point Breeze Ave and Washington Ave. The west side of broad has barely any commercial zoning outside of PB Ave, some corners, and a little on Snyder and W Passyunk. Unless the zoning changes, the west side doesn't have many spaces for commercial to exist in the first place

Same here. Just don’t care to carry cash on me and haven’t had any reason to compel me to. Street vendors were the last place I used cash and not most of them have square or Venmo so it’s removed the final inconvenience for me

If you're charged $3 per transaction then each transaction is about $100+. If so you could probably get better rates from someone else. Rates are no higher than 3%.

There's barely anything zoned commercial outside of Point Breeze Ave unfortunately and most corner store spaces have been converted to residential. It sucks for the neighborhood and I always had to leave for anything when I lived there, but it's largely an arbitrary zoning issue

You know, ticketing and towing cars that park on the sidewalks would raise about $21M in a week... I exaggerate, but still...
