A decent number of moving companies are cash only too.

My only memory of Genos is going there, looking at their “speak American” sign, then placing an order in English and then then fucking up the order

It’s probably because there’s a huge Cambodian population in that area?

Yeah moving back to the east side of broad in South Philly made me realize how much there isn’t on the west side.

You don’t need one. Just that space for parking can get tight. So not really a moving permit. More like a parking permit to reserve a space.

I feel like a cheapskate, but $18 Pho, $32 fried rice, and a $10 funnel cake seems like a lot. Cheaper than Kalaya, tho!

Reply to [Inquirer] Philadelphia collected $21 million in fees to improve pedestrian safety. Sidewalks are still treacherous. by Hoyarugby
Really maddening article about the state of sidewalks. Kenney ran on a promise to improve sidewalks and yet did very little on the issue
Particularly moving is a video shot from the perspective of somebody commuting to work at Jefferson hospital via wheelchair - the woman who got paralyzed from a stray bullet at Hancock Park in Fishtown last year. Even little stuff like a hose across the sidewalk left by a construction crew can block the sidewalk for somebody in a wheelchair, and force them to go into the street to get around obstacles

It’s not just the sidewalks that’s a problem. It’s the cars parked on the sidewalk

I mean it borders on agenda pushing so I wonder how many people actually believe it versus want to believe it.
“Paid protesters” is a right-wing trope used against popular causes.

Us smaller businesses get charged per card swipe. My shop is around the corner from them, and we’re charged about $3 per card transaction, so cash is always more welcomed. That’s a reason some places have a card minimum of $10-$15.

Nobody else is going to give me a medium iced coffee for $1 every Tuesday
Also the workers at both of my primary Dunkin’ Donuts are the best, most friendly people

Wow I didn't know you needed a permit to move. I have moved two times within the city. Just loaded up a U-Haul and moved

I buy fancy beans and grind them at home and use a pour over and time myself and I still absolutely love a standard hot coffee from dunkin lol
coffee can be really special but decent coffee is still great to me
like I’ve had bad drinks from fancy cafes that are so much worse than a McDonald’s or dunkin cup

Right - this is already illegal so calling it a hate crime seems like an attempt to impute a thought crime to someone we don't know anything about.
And frankly, I assume most graffiti is somewhere between 'art' (in someone's eyes) and stupidity/childishness (and not necessarily by a child). These folks should just have to fix it.
