This article isn’t very well written, contradicts itself, and uses pretty suspect data to back its claims. It even uses a photo that doesn’t feature any of the attractions mentioned. I’m not usually so harsh, but I’m calling Bullshit on this headline’s claim.

In high school I ran in XC meets at Lehigh and later went to school there as well. Cool place.

Thanks for the rec's, I'll have to check those out. I get up that way every so often to go to an XC meet at Lehigh or take Rt 80 out to Central PA.

She was the managing director at Bear Stearns on the credit derivatives desk and the budget director for Nutter… you don’t get more in the weeds than that. She oversaw the ‘overlending’ of credit for mortgages to people who couldn’t afford to take out those loans during the housing crisis in 08. It’s very frustrating that she’s pitching herself as this “out of government” candidate when in fact she has been involved in governmental decisions and policies for over 20 years, many in which negatively impacted millions of Americans, caused tons of people to lose their homes, kids lost their schools, etc. She made a really weird video a month or 2 ago where she stood in front of Germantown HS advocating for schools like that to be open, it was her decision to close Germantown HS! You can’t make this stuff up

Wait what? Alabama was the most traveled to state? And to be honest, I don’t really see PA as being the second most traveled to state either. Maybe traveled ‘through’ state, as in folks driving to NYC or DC or whatnot

Of all the things the police should respond to, this is not one of them.

OP’s not talking about the fountains in the Oval (which yeah, shut down in the winter) but the tiered ones astride the steps themselves, which haven’t been run in decades. A thread from a few years ago said it’s because of plumbing issues.

If you see racist content, please report it so that we can respond accordingly. We can't be in every thread at times.

There are a few things going on here.
First, the fill connection is 1.5” threaded pipe. These connections are very prone to leaking during fill because the threads wear out over time both on the fill box and the fill adapter. “Modern” fill adapters use rubber rings to ensure a good seal during fill. 1.5” adapters do not have these.
Also, when this stoop was constructed, the fill box was not properly installed. The adapter connection should not be parallel to the ground. The scenario you see can lead to the oil flowing back when the hose from truck is disconnected.
Also, the pipe to the tank may not be pitched corrected. So when the fill is complete, some portion of the oil may flow back to the street when the hose from truck is disconnected.
Also, the stain on the wall may be due to two factors. One is the fill box connection leaking when during fill. Another is the fill box/pipe can be cracked inside the masonry. The masonry over time soaks up the leaked oil.
The stay dry was most likely put down by the oilman as this fill is clearly a bad leaker. It’s a fairly common, though undesirable scenario.

There are a lot of reasons people need to buy bottled water, sometimes medical.

How do you not realize that this would probably create editorialized headlines that are also racist?

That would only add a new problem to the equation which would be editorialized clickbait. Better to just translate the dumb thing already being said verbatim.

This wasn't the question .. we all know shit is bad, but his question wasn't "is shit bad?" it was wether or not the Ohio crash made this water quality much WORSE than already.

The most difficult part of moving back to Philly as a relatively recent convert to pescetarianism is the never-ceasing temptation of the hoagie (and all of the other classic Philadelphia meat-based sandwiches). I've had Luhv's vegan hoagie and it's a really solid sandwich, but it's pricey and requires a special trip to RTM. There's something particularly alluring about knowing that you can walk into almost any corner deli in the city and get a delicious high-quality hoagie (or cheesesteak for that matter). sigh
