Don’t compare the “base salary”. Compare the whole package. Looks to me you are getting far more than 11%.

My company offers 100% match up to 7%, plus an extra 10% profit sharing into your 401k, so functionally 17% for free.

I just don't think I've ever heard someone use the word "billed" in this context.
I interpreted what you said as "wait until they charge you for it, then pay" which I interpreted the charge as the interest.
I think it's also because nobody would ever pay a balance before its billed (like, pay in advance on the credit card I guess?) so it makes it hard to interpret your advice I guess.
Just a misunderstanding.

Reply to comment by nolesrule in Need to correct form 8606? by BarnabyJonesNap
What was pointed out tk me that I think is correct is the fact that I did 2 contributions and 2 conversions in calendar year 2020, one contribution for year 2019 and one for 2020, and the conversions both show in 2020 8606. So maybe line 8 on the 2020 8606 should have been 12k instead of 6k to zero that out?

Think it's a good idea to login and check the balance before you walk out of the Walmart store?

Ah gotcha! I wonder why so many have that same amount then.

No, paying interest is not the point. Paying the balance due after it's been billed is the advice.

I was stating that the funds could be given/used by said minor at a future date, sorry if I was unclear about that!

I actually run an online business, so my supplies, equipment, etc is basically nothing. Every few years I buy a new laptop... other than that my biggest expense is my accountant.

I don't know if I'm reading this the way you intended but funds in UTMA and UGMA accounts can't be used to pay for the regular expenses of caring for a child. Rather they can be used for enriching expenses.

i'll be curious to see what others say. i would think that if you were to do something that it would be to see how much equipment/supplies you need to order for the company in 2022 to cut down your taxable rate. s-corp might have a different setup though so like i said, curious to see what others say

I'm wondering where these jobs exist that I keep seeing, even in a technical field I can't find 401k matches that are worth a damn. My current match is 8.5% which was nearly impossible to find. All other job offers I've gotten have either been 3% or 4%.

$11k is not a lot of money.
I would choose the more stable company, more stable job, better work/life balance etc.

If he's looking to leave then the pension doesn't mean much, no? At least with the (insane) 401k match the money is his.
