Foreseeable future, fine. Once you’re closing in on your retirement, not fine.

If I listed and ranked all the places I would put $70K - bitcoin would be, literally, last on the list.
I'd rather have stuff in cash than put it in bitcoin....and there are places that are better than cash.

Are you going back to school to earn more money? If not, you're making a mistake.

Do you have at least $700k in total investments? Personally, I wouldn't put more than 10% towards crypto.
And low compared to what? It's up 41% since the beginning of this year.

That's what I do, but I'd like to hear everyone's opinion on it. VTSAX has basically been my catch-all, but I've been wondering if I should, idk, diversify?

This is an incorrect answer.
20% of 6% of OPs pay is nothing compared to $30k, regardless of interest rate.

sorry, i was meant with humor. Good for you saving up that amount of cash. Good problem to have! lol. There's a lot of savings accounts that now offer decent yield. I saw Marcus by GS is up to 3.750%. If unsure to buy a home or invest in the market, that may be a good holding spot.

Here is the flowchart from the r/personalfinance subreddit’s Prime Directive. If you follow that, you will be ahead of almost all of your peers.
Stop by the sidebar to see the Common Topics, which include basic money handling and investing.
You don’t need to talk to anyone or buy some random book to do this. You have all the tools right here.

😅 its always very interesting when people assume that i haven't applied to the easiest places to apply to 😅
i got downvoted for this but it's really crazy to me that people assume there are folks out there who want to be struggling to pay their bills and have food. i've applied from all jobs from fast food to office work.

I will look into it. The post says that i am being charged $136 every month the bill is not payed off in full, which means they will charge that even if i only owe $5. thank you for your advice.

No reason for the snark, it's why this sub exists. Anyway, a few years ago I had about $30k cash and was actively saving for a down payment. My income went up a good bit and I didn't change my plan. Couple years later and the balance has gone up while I never found a place.
I also didn't grow up with much, so I am risk adverse and subconsciously inclined to find comfort in having more cash on hand than I need.
