Yeah my wife and I just get our paychecks deposited into our joint bank account and then transfer out a set equal amount to each of our own accounts for our discretionary spending. Feels more like our finances are a team effort and everything is more transparent that way, but we still have the freedom to make a silly purchase here or there without asking for permission

Hardship withdrawals are still subject to the 10% penalty unless some other exception applies

The top priority financially is to get off the negative equity treadmill and never get back on. If you have the cash available to do that, do it. If not, plan out the quickest way to get there.

Nah I believe it wouldn’t be reported unless it was like 30 days late

Why are they trying to take physical cash instead of electronically wiring the money to a US account?

I am also wondering if I will be paying interest on the full $8000?

Could you do a balance transfer to a new cc? I know it sounds counter intuitive to open a new card but many times you get an introductory rate for a period of time which may we well below your current rates.

Ah, read too quickly. It sounded like op would hold off until they could pay the whole 4K but it would make more sense to pay at least the min

Reply to Investment in Private company that was bought out, 1099-B can't determine cost basis by recycled_dnd
I've never dealt with this with a private company, but I've dealt with this before.
Who's issuing the cash payments? I'm asking about the Aug 2022 payout.
5k / 5k sounds right, at first glance, but it's not clear where that 400 came from. It sounds like a cash dividend...but it should be reported on a 1099-DIV in that case. Unless they formed a partnership, and if that's what happened, you can expect a K-1 towards the end of March.

never pay late if you can prevent it. It ruins your credit score. pay as much as you can as fast as you can and your credit score won't take as big of a hit

You refresh the emergency fund in like two months. This should be easy math.

Reply to comment by Separate-Panic-8834 in I'm in CA. For the last 12 months I was paying month to month for rent without a lease. Now the apartment complex is making me sign a 13 month lease for 10% more. Can they do that? by [deleted]
You say that but there are different laws and people were not paying rent during covid. My question was simple to find out if I can just keep my mtm and you flex your rick and morty intellect here. Not everyone has the same experiences in life.

OP has $2000 and the minimum is $40. No late fee incurred. Interest yes, late fee no.

I don’t think that is correct. I believe it is one of the 5 hardship withdrawal exceptions.

Reply to comment by Randoml9789 in good ways to monitor credit? by Randoml9789
That's not very specific. What the error says is going to be important to resolving the error. It's common with anything regarding credit to have to verify yourself usually with some questions about your history. Some of these can be false like it saying you took out a loan when you didn't or very old info. I was just helping a parent with one of these to verify their ID and it asked about a loan 35 years ago.

Unfortunately, I don't live in a small town. It'll be impossible to cold call all of the storages. The problem is compounded by him having lived in two adjacent cities, both fairly large.

Be careful what you wish for. 26 was a hard year for me, I'd already gotten married, passed the drinking age, voting age, gotten my license. Getting cheaper insurance was the last age related milestone I could see...

Unless it reports to FICO scores, it doesn't matter. For all real world applications, credit karma is a "fake" credit score. Nobody uses Vantage score which is the underlying model.

No, you are correct, I will pay the full $4000, but a few days late. I have $2000 to pay them on the due date.
