Oh, so you're saying a cop brandishing a gun illegally who should know better is more justified in brandishing a gun illegally? Is that right? Generally we hold people who are mentally stable and not deranged to a higher standard, but I guess this is a cop so he just gets to bypass the law.

I really wish people would finally, finally learn that the source of this guy's power is having half the country think there is a conspiracy against him. Have a big smoking gun and charge the bastard with a crime, but don't keep goddamned talking about it for like seven years. That just feeds his fire, and let's be absolutely clear: if there are some criminal charges and he beats them before the next repub nomination, he is probably our next president. I swear to god it's like the NYT wants that to happen.

> The new price tag includes interest payments on debt the MTA expects to take out to build the subway extension. The feds reported the previous price tag at $6.9 billion, but the MTA reported the number at $6.3 billion, a figure that did not include debt financing costs.

And they want to use congestion charge revenue to guarantee that debt.

I don't know how anyone can support this with a straight face. Except the car-haters of course, because they’re irrational.

Maybe they can go on Medicare when they retire which is good enough for every other American.

It's completely unaffordable for NYC to pay any money for retirees Healthcare when almost no other American gets this Benifit. Something Ike 15% of NYCs budget goes to pay for employees that no longer work for the city. When people complain there is no money for parks and a lot of other things it's going to people that don't even work for the city anymore. It's not fiscally sound over the long term.

Everyone wants to pile on this cop but what if those kids did keep breaking his cameras? There are no consequences for juvenile offenders in NYC and their age means nothing to me, there are plenty of violent 12 year old gang members who know exactly what they are doing, that it is wrong and that their age shields them.

There are plenty of moms that will defend their violent criminal children regardless of the crime they committed, they are enablers and by having no consequences society enables their behavior as well.
