If you rank NYC's budget by national budgets worldwide, we'd rank 41st in expenditures ahead of the Philippines. And if you account for the fact that the NYC government doesn't have to provide for its own defense or the biggest two parts of social spending (Social Security and Medicare), what we get for that money starts looking pretty bad.

Yeah, everyone has hard times. The question is how do you go from not being able to pay rent for years and being evicted from multiple apartments to lending your own campaign $700,000 in just a few years. It’s shady as fuck and might indicate criminal activity with regard to campaign financing.

I love Amazon Go. Go in, pick stuff, get out. Using the palm scanner I don't even need to take out my phone or wallet. Great if I just want a quick snack or drink.

My only issue with them is the way they cycle their inventory. If I want popcorn chicken, its a gamble if they're gonna have it or not and seems semi-random. The breakfast options completely suck too.

But I really like the store's concept.

Lmao. Yes what 26 year old didn’t have (checks notes) multiple eviction proceedings against him at once, later running for congress and winning and railing against people who don’t work for a living.

Fyi I’ve been here a long ass time and I’ve never been evicted from anywhere but okay guy. It’s not merely the eviction history it’s the fucking hypocrisy. He’s a liar and a fraud with a trail of victims.

Idk but it's going to be a while before a majority of residents realizs the change, but I believe the government should have a government social media so residents can voice their opinions and etc, reddit and other social media's rarely reach the ears of those writing the rules within the government, yes u still can't force those in the government to read it but add read receipts so they can be scrutinized for not giving a $hiit.🤷🏾‍♂️ make it like checking your email, idrk

That's very scary. I hope the owners and builders have the hammer come down on them.

And I hope the city realizes that "cutting through red tape" and refusing to staff oversight agencies very quickly leads to shit like this falling through the cracks. We need enforcement of building and safety rules. People's lives depend on it.

Oh is that how it works? FYI I’ve been here over 20 years and I don’t feel guilty at all for being in a stabilized apartment. Again I work for a living, always have, literally no one is subsidizing my life. But yes let’s just kick out a slew of working families because you think that’s fair for some reason. Or maybe we should tax the rich more and not shit all over middle and working class families.
