One of the longest borders on earth. Insufficient resources from both the left and the right of the isle, because they're too busy making political hay and not actually solving any problems. Violence and poverty in their home countries are driving this. The flood of people isnt going to stop because your head lives in the 1950's

I thought the lady from the commercials said we could feed the poor for like 20 cents a week.
We should be taking care of our own homeless and poor before everyone else's.

Itâs not the same as quitting, at all, from a legal standpoint. You still have your job, and need to be paid, until they fire you, and once they fire you, you can fight for unemployed. Never quit. Youâre basically willingly giving away your rights as a worker.
The employer knows this. Theyâll often try and trick you by saying âif you donât show up, youâre quittingâ or something like that, make it clear you did not quit.

That is not the solution . Nor is bad mouthing people . It is a situation for people to live freely. Help with the solution or be quiet

Per the article, this is only for people with access to top secret trade algo which is "less than 100 â of our 57,000 technologists.â
So basically a paid vacation while giving enough time for the trade secrets to become outdated.
Fair, next.

I'm not sure this is the case in NYC. Many of the developers they choose to hire in a HCOL place like NYC are going to be in front-office facing positions such as etrading roles.

Exactly what I said when they(a different big bank on wall street) tried to get me to agree to a 3 month version. They had a lawyer badger me about it for a couple hours(two meetings) but then they gave up.

>Are these hotel owners planning to replace all the mattresses and bedding, and deep clean all the carpets and upholstery? Otherwise, I don't know how many tourists would visit NYC instead of another destination.
This statement assumes that migrants are "dirtier" than tourists. On the cartoonishly evil range, I rate this statement 9/10 on the CE scale.

The immediate problem of âasylum seekersâ flooding the city at immense and unsustainable cost. Yes, thatâs what Iâm referring to. Perhaps youâve heard about it.

Correct. There actually seems to be a lack of regular bar/pubs in most of the Bronx. That could change, but as of now it's nothing like even Bed Stuy in terms of nightlife.
Another thing is that most of the South Bronx was destroyed during the 1970s arson wave, and the buildings were replaced in the 80s and 90s with cheap looking Fedders houses. So it doesn't have that homey feel that Bed Stuy, Bushwick, Harlem, Washington Heights, etc. have. That's also why, in my opinion, Brownsville is of little interest to gentrifiers.
