I mean, this is a misinformed view for people that love to be a victim of woke culture. The actual reason is that Hasidic Jews in NYC are a large voting bloc. Traditionally, going against them has been detrimental to re-election.

Started Catholic school in 1992, and everyone said that they stopped corporal punishment that year once the nuns were gone.

If you think NYC government is unresponsive, bureaucratic, inefficient and terrible, giving it a bank is the last thing you should want.

I've advocated it here before but what I'd really like to see is utilitarian housing projects but have it geared towards middle class people instead of filling it up with low income households. One of the biggest failures of housing projects like Pruitt-Igoe in the past is that the maintenance and upkeep are dependent on the people most vulnerable to market fluctuations, so every downturn in the economy sees the buildings fall into disrepair and those with means to get out do and it's a downward spiral.

That’s what they are doing now. This would change that.

i get it but i wasn't commenting on the religious aspect of the school. simply that they were violating a child's rights in this country by not teaching them basic reading and writing

Enforcement budget…? Like a victim’s fund? I’m no specialist on this law but I think the executive presents a budget and the legislature approves it.
Spending bills originate in the house and is approved by the senate and sent up to the executive to create law but the authority to actually spend money from the fund is up to the executive, right?
Say Albany gives out money for this purpose to the various local municipalities (county, city, town, zone), and then their executive and/or enforcement agency has their own enforcement priorities… I’m not sure if the legislature can really be blamed here.

> But we all know how a lot of redditors get hard at wanting to paint minorities as “the real racists.”
I'm not painting minorities as the real racists. Most minorities are chill just like most everyone else. I'm saying you're the real racist.
Anyways, you think anybody moving into the neighborhood, white or non-white, would want to interact with busybodies like you, measuring whether they looked at you the right way or if they acknowledged you appropriately enough. Fuck that.

I think the days of NYCHA towers being built are long gone. And the mixed income housing seems like a scam.

They want a specific type of luxury development in specific areas, they don't want to fund any sort of actual large scale affordable housing that we actually need.

I said "religious movement and/or cult." Considering it's properly referred to as the "Hassidic Movement" I assumed that'd be relatively uncontroversial. It's literally a spiritual revival movement, from which both cults and non-cults have originated.

Yeah, I have asked a lot of black and Hispanic New Yorkers about this. They said they either knew literally zero white people growing up or maybe 1-2 token white kids.
Huge swaths of the city are like this, you can walk for probably miles in Eastern Brooklyn or The Bronx withour seeing a single white family.

I don’t much care to philosophically debate the benefits of objective journalism when people’s lives are at stake. You’re also showing a profound bias by stating that Hasidic Judaism is a cult.

I've been all over the South Bronx and West Bronx and have seen few white people. I know there are plenty in Riverdale and Country Club, but how many black people live there?

I can vouch for this. In high school, the nerdy kids (the type to do Naruto runs) had very diverse friend groups and still do.
While the "normies" mostly stuck to their own racial group.

Literally the only bad thing is the increased rents (and the consequences of that)
But landlords are jacking up rents even in places like Fordham Heights (for instance) where there is zero gentrification, so you may as well get some benefit out of it.

I didn't say that it didn't happen, it provably did. I very much question the idea that it occurred with enough regularity to justify throwing the entire NYPD under the bus.

Uptown is boring period.
If you want diversity and actually a high amount of things to do, you need to be downtown.
Hell, the most expensive neighborhoods in NYC are downtown.

Videos that I took yes, although I don't intend to upload them publicly. Many of the protestors that spoke to me asked me not to upload it.

Ah. Thanks for the info. Turns out I'm just old enough to have had friends in the last few classes before they stopped doing it, hence my need to ask.
