Half of Catholics are liberal though.

My Catholic husband is a feminist and a Marxist though.... There are differing levels of piety in any faith and painting with a broad brush is ignorant.

I live directly across a lake from Fox Lake. The entire town is a collection of drunks, same thing here. Although Fox Lake has way more bars and boat places because it's sandwiched between multiple lakes.
If you pull a car over after 9-10 pm anywhere around here, you have a 50/50 chance of finding a drunk. But in fox lake, it's probably closer to 80/20.

As a Catholic I have the right to try to change it from the inside. Change is slow in an organization that is 2000 years old but it will come or we don't survive. Saying Catholic should be synonymous with child abuse is quite a bigoted thing to say. I should be synonymous with child abuse? Hateful.

Perhaps only in America, Champagne is PDO in other countries.
Also Champagne is called that because it comes from the Champagne region of France, even if a sparkling wine is made in France it cannot be called Champagne if it doesn't come from the right region.

The impossibility of policing is due to the concentration of power. Organizations with access to children often have the problem of child sex abuse. You see this with or without "god" in the mix.

It's a similar idea. If you're going to invoke a country/cultural craft (here its swiss chocolate being high quality), then you should pay up. No free riders!

Maybe the family should be more cognizant of who’s driving their vehicles, then it wouldn’t be an issue. Guns are confiscated, why not unlawfully operated vehicles.

It is, but that's laws for you man. Swiss don't want no free riders, and you can argue Swiss Chocolate is a cultural brand in and of itself so the country has incentive to protect the integrity of it.

I think they should just switch to polyamory and swap relationships with each other after every fight. It'll keep things sparring and fresh.

Yes, that's why they won't write "Swiss made chocolate" on it. But the picture of a mountain can only be used on products made in the country where most of the mountain is in? That's going a bit too far I think. It's a mountain! Not a building or monument.

When abusers get power they are good at holding it. Personally it is clear the Catholic Church shouldn’t exist. Any other organization that systematically raped children like that, covered it up, and fought against accountability when caught would be shut down, the only reason they still exist is people clinging to religion.

IMO there are worse things than not being allowed a leadership role in an organization that protects child rapists, have murderered indigenous peoples, and condones domestic violence. I don't understand how anyone can support the catholic church.

Just letting people know exactly how fucked it is there. My high school had a bar across the street from the front entrance. As an adult, though, I see it was pure genius. Teachers need to unwind after dealing with hormonal teenagers would walk out to their cars thinking "I need a drink after today." and then see the bar. Now they have methadone clinics next to bars in the area so you know its just getting worse.

Seizure is also a word.. it's private property, and you can't simply take it. (BTW, what if it's the family vehicle?)

That one’s not true. Champagne can also come from California, legally. Part of negotiations over trade labeling ~18 years ago. Producers in California that were already labeling their product Champagne were/are allowed to continue to label it as such indefinitely.
