I was thinking the kid might be a relative of teddys that looks similar to him and you’re brain to recognized the kid as him but you recognizing the dead mayor you didn’t know was dead kind of through that theory out the window. You have the best point of all. Break the cycle! Why would someone who went through that abuse inflict the same on their child! I get some people get bitter and evil because of it but why doesn’t everyone get like that then? It has a lot to do with who you are as a person deep down no matter what was done to you. You do need to work on blaming yourself WAY less for things that are out of your control, but you're also one of the rare kind of people who actually give a shit and want to be helpful and that's worth a LOT. She's already in a deal with him. He's invested in her, so it's not unreasonable to try to get help from him. And the original dealing seemed like basically the only option, and was pretty much thrust onto her anyhow
